چکیده

Figure 3: Representative reformatted images showing the coronary arteries. The image on the left is ungated and uncorrected, blurring is visible. The middle image is the same dataset, corrected using 3D motion data. The coronaries are sharper after correction, and correspond well with the reference image (right). Figure 4: Vessel Sharpness is presented normalised to the reference gated scans. Uncorrected images display significantly worse image quality. 3DSN correction is able to restore vessel sharpness to an equivalent level as the reference images. 1356 3T Coronary MRA with 100% Navigator Efficiency with 3D Self Navigation Jonathan Powell, Markus Henningsson, Claudia Prieto, Peter Koken, and Rene Botnar Division of Biomedical Engineering and Imaging Sciences, King's College London, London, London, United Kingdom, Escuela de Ingeniería, Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile, Santiago, Chile, Philips Research, Hamburg, Germany

Free-breathing 3D whole-heart coronary mra using respiratory motion-resolved sparse reconstruction

Background Navigator gating is commonly used to minimize respiratory motion in free-breathing whole-heart coronary MRA [1]. However, lengthy and unpredictable acquisition times remain a drawback. Respiratory self-navigation (SN) [2-3], conversely, enables 100% scan efficiency, but performs motion correction over a broad range of respiratory displacements, which can result in image artifacts. He...

Self-Navigation with Compressed Sensing for 2D Translational Motion Correction in Free-Breathing Coronary MRI: A Feasibility Study

PURPOSE Respiratory motion correction remains a challenge in coronary magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and current techniques, such as navigator gating, suffer from sub-optimal scan efficiency and ease-of-use. To overcome these limitations, an image-based self-navigation technique is proposed that uses "sub-images" and compressed sensing (CS) to obtain translational motion correction in 2D. The...

Self-guided retrospective motion correction (SEGMO) for free-breathing whole-heart coronary MRA with 100% acquisition efficiency

Background Free-breathing whole heart coronary MRA uses diaphragm navigator to gate data acquisition, which suffers from the need for time-consuming and exquisite positioning, prolonged scan time due to low gating efficiency, and inaccuracy in motion detection. In this work, a respiratory motion correction scheme is proposed with an affine motion model for accurate estimation of respiratory mot...

Cardiac Fat Navigator for Real-Time Motion Gated 3D Coronary MRA

T. D. Nguyen, A. Nuval, Y. Wang University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh, PA, United States SYNOPSIS Cardiac fat navigator detects coronary motion directly by exciting and sampling the epicardial fat that surrounds the proximal coronary arteries. The present study demonstrates that motion detected by the cardiac fat navigator at mid-diastole correlates with motion detected by the dia...

Free-breathing non-contrast MRA with efficiency-adaptive self navigation

Background Non-contrast MRA (NC-MRA) based on bSSFP and slab-selective inversion has become an attractive alternative for imaging renal arteries without the usage of potentially nephrotoxic contrast agent. It typically requires navigator gating or abdominal bellow triggering to alleviate breathing motion artifacts. However, navigator gating significantly complicates and lengthens exams due to i...
