چکیده
The vortex-vortex and vortex-antivortex correlation functions are determined for the two-dimensional O(2) model undergoing phase ordering. We find reasonably good agreement with simulation results for the vortex-vortex correlation function where there is a short-scaled distance depletion zone due to the repulsion of like-signed vortices. The vortex-antivortex correlation function agrees well with simulation results for intermediate and long-scaled distances. At short-scaled distances the simulations show a depletion zone not seen in the theory. PACS numbers: 05.70.Ln, 64.60.Cn, 64.60.My, 64.75.+g Typeset using REVTEX 1

Ballistic annihilation kinetics for a multi-velocity one-dimensional ideal gas is studied in the framework of an exact analytic approach. For an initial symmetric three-velocity distribution, the problem can be solved exactly and it is shown that different regimes exist depending on the initial fraction of particles at rest. Extension to the case of a n-velocity distribution is discussed. PACS ...

We introduce the phase model on a lattice and solve it using the algebraic Bethe ansatz. Time-dependent temperature correlation functions of phase operators and the " darkness formation probability " are calculated in the thermodynamical limit. These results can be used to construct integrable equations for the correlation functions and to calculate their asymptotics.

In this letter we study the ground-state phase diagram of the one-dimensional Falicov-Kimball model. This model was proposed to describe metal-insulator transitions [ 1] and has since been investigated in connection with a variety of problems such as binary alloys [ 2], ordering in mixed-valence systems [ 3], and the formation of ionic crystals [ 4]. It is the latter language we shall use here,...
