چکیده

This paper addresses the evaluation of a passive RFID system under a continuous flow of tag arrivals and departures, for instance, in a conveyor belt installation. In such configuration, the main operational variable is the Tag Loss Probability (TLP). Since tags stay in the coverage area of the reader for a finite amount of time, it is possible that some tags leave the area unidentified if many tags compete for being simultaneously identified. A suitable configuration of the system (flow speed, tags per block, time between blocks, etc.) must be selected to assure that TLP remains under a given operative threshold. In this paper we focus on the EPCglobal Class-1 Gen-2 standard, which specifies an anti-collision protocol based on Framed Slotted Aloha. Our work is aimed at evaluating the TLP for the different configurations of such protocol, and selecting the right scenario configuration to guarantee a TLP below a given limit. This issue has not been studied yet, despite of its relevance in real-world scenarios based on assembly lines or other dynamic environments. Simulation results show that both anticollision protocol operation mode and flow configuration heavily impacts in the performance. Additionally, real test have been conducted which confirm simulation results.

Tags Re-ranking Using Multi-level Features in Automatic Image Annotation

Automatic image annotation is a process in which computer systems automatically assign the textual tags related with visual content to a query image. In most cases, inappropriate tags generated by the users as well as the images without any tags among the challenges available in this field have a negative effect on the query's result. In this paper, a new method is presented for automatic image...

Game-Based Cryptanalysis of a Lightweight CRC-Based Authentication Protocol for EPC Tags

The term "Internet of Things (IoT)" expresses a huge network of smart and connected objects which can interact with other devices without our interposition. Radio frequency identification (RFID) is a great technology and an interesting candidate to provide communications for IoT networks, but numerous security and privacy issues need to be considered. In this paper, we analyze the security and ...

Frequency of Diabetes Mellitus in Skin Tag Patients in Comparison with Control Group

Background & Aims: Diabetes mellitus is one of the most common types of chronic disease leading to serious complications such as blindness, end stage renal disease (ESRD), neuropathy and cardiac disorders. Skin tag is a common benign skin tumor that its association with impaired carbohydrate metabolism has been reported in some studies. The aim of this study was to compare the frequency of diab...

A RFID EPC C1 Gen2 System with Channel Coding Capability in AWGN Noise Environments

In this letter, we propose a new scheme for the tag structure of the EPCglobal Class-1 Generation-2 (EPC C1 Gen2) standard equipped with a channel encoding block and the corresponding decoding block in the receiver of the reader system. The channel coded tag is designed to fully accommodate the EPC C1 Gen2 standard. The use of the proposed channel encoding block increases the number of logic ga...

A Study for the Convictional Authentication of EPC Global Class-1 Generation-2

Epcglobal class-1 generation-2 has been approved by the ISO18000-6C for the global usage. Here the tag can be traceable and that is transmitted into the plain text . In traditional encryption methods we use symmetric or asymmetric ciphers but this encryption methods are not suitable for the RFID tags. Gen2 has proposed some lightweight authentication protocols. Here message flow in RFID tag is ...
