Initial Boundary Value Problem for Model Equations of Resistive Drift Wave Turbulence

چکیده
In this paper we are concerned with the drift wave turbulence in a strong magnetic field. The existence and the uniqueness of a strong Stepanovalmost-periodic solution to the initial boundary value problems are established both for the model equations of the resistive drift wave turbulence and for the three-dimensional Hasegawa–Wakatani equations when the initial data are Stepanov-almost-periodic in the magnetic field direction. Bifurcation in electrostatic resistive drift wave turbulence
The Hasegawa-Wakatani equations, coupling plasma density, and electrostatic potential through an approximation to the physics of parallel electron motions, are a simple model that describes resistive drift wave turbulence. Numerical analyses of bifurcation phenomena in the model are presented, that provide new insights into the interactions between turbulence and zonal flows in the tokamak plas...
متن کاملNonlinear Simulation of Drift Wave Turbulence
In a two-dimensional version of the modified Hasegawa-Wakatani (HW) model, which describes electrostatic resistive drift wave turbulence, the resistive coupling between vorticity and density does not act on the zonal components (ky = 0). It is therefore necessary to modify the HW model to treat the zonal components properly. The modified equations are solved numerically, and visualization and a...
متن کاملSpectral properties and statistics of resistive drift-wave turbulence
Resistive drift-wave turbulence is studied by high-resolution numerical simulation in the limit of small viscosity (high Reynolds numbers), such that the adiabaticity parameter V is the only relevant parameter. Energy spectra exhibit a maximum at some wave-number kc, and a power law behavior for k> k+ Statistics in this range are non-Gaussian indicating strong intermittency, but are perfectly G...

A computational study of resistive drift waves in the edge plasma of a stellarator with an helical magnetic axis is presented. Three coupled field equations, describing the collisional drift wave dynamics in the linear approximation, are solved as an initial-value problem along the magnetic field line. The magnetohydrodynamic equilibrium is obtained from a three-dimensional local equilibrium mo...
متن کاملA Mathematical Model for Analysis of Upright Perforated Wave Absorbers
On the basis of the continuity equation and the Bernoulli equation in the steady form, a differential equation is developed to evaluate the successive water levels within compartments of an upright perforated wave absorber. Then the initial and boundary conditions are introduced and the differential equation is solved as an initial value problem. Finally the reflection coefficient from the wave...
