The disease affects children and adults. We present a 4 years old girl with itchy polymorphic eruptions. The skin rash was presented by bullous-erosive rosette-like lesions with reddish-brown crust in the center, distributed on the skin of the face, trunk and extremities. The vesicles were filled with serous and hemorrhagic content. Laboratory examinations were within normal values according the age. Histopathological examination of the lesional skin revealed sub epidermal blister. Direct immunofluorescence of perilesional skin demonstrated linear deposition of IgA in the basement membrane. Systemic treatment with Methylprednisolon and Claritromycin was applied with satisfactory effect. The patient is under observation.

Treatment of linear IgA bullous dermatosis of childhood with flucloxacillin.
BACKGROUND Linear IgA bullous dermatosis of childhood is a rare autoimmune bullous disease that mainly affects preschool-aged children. Dapsone is considered the first-line therapy with prompt response from most patients. However, it may be contraindicated in certain conditions such as glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency. OBJECTIVE We sought to assess the efficacy of flucloxacillin i...
متن کاملChronic Bullous Disease or Linear IgA Dermatosis of Childhood -Revisited
Linear IgA dermatosis or chronic bullous disease of childhood (CBDC) is a nonhereditary, autoimmune subepidermal bullous disease, characterized by the presence of continuous linear deposits of IgA autoantibodies along the basement membrane zone. Antigens mainly involved in the pathogenesis of CBDC are a 97-kDa and a 120 –kDa protein, which represent fragments of the extracellular domain of coll...

A 12 year old boy suffering from p67-phox deficient chronic granulomatous disease presented with a bullous skin disease and a lung infection with paecilomyces species. The histopathology of a bullous lesion showed subepidermal blister formation and microabcesses containing eosinophils in the dermal papillae. By direct immunofluorescence, linear staining of IgA at the dermal-epidermal junction w...
متن کاملVancomycin-associated linear IgA bullous dermatosis mimicking toxic epidermal necrolysis.
Vancomycin is the most frequent trigger of drug-induced linear IgA bullous dermatosis. We describe a fulminant case of linear IgA bullous dermatosis in a 74-year-old man who experienced skin sloughing of 90% of his body surface after receiving vancomycin.
متن کاملLinear IgA bullous dermatosis: report of an exuberant case*
Linear immunoglobulin A dermatosis is a rare autoimmune bullous disease, but the most common autoimmune bullous dermatosis in children. We report a typical exuberant case of linear IgA dermatosis in a ten-month old child, who showed good response to treatment with corticosteroids and dapsone.
