چکیده

Since luting cement is used for fixing cast restorations to their abutments, the cement surface at the junction between cast and tooth is exposed to oral environment. The conventional cement so far used does not adhere to the tooth and is slightly soluble into saliva and gingival fluid1,2). Consequently, the microleakage and subsequent recurrent caries seem to develop at this junction. Recently, adhesive cements (compoiste resin type and 4-META type) which possess chemical adhesive property not only to tooth but also to various dental alloys were explored3). We evaluated the bonding ability and the extent of microleakage of two types of adhesive cement and compared them to those of conventional cements (zinc phosphate, glass ionomer) by dye-penetration in thermal cycle test.

Evaluation of the Effect of Sodium Hypochlorite Irrigant on Pull-out Bond Strength of FRC Posts Using Different Resin Cements

Introduction: To evaluate the effects of using sodium hypochlorite irrigant on pull-out bond strength of self-etch and self-adhesive resin cements to dentin. Methods: Sixty intact premolars were decoronated and the root canals were prepared by step-back technique. The teeth were divided into two groups according to the irrigant used during root canal treatment: 5.25% sodium hypochlorite and nor...

[Studies on the marginal leakage of various setting materials of a metal crown, including newly developed adhesive resins].

The gap between a metal crown and an abutment tooth often leads to troubles such as secondary caries, pulpitis, periodontitis and so on. We expected that newly developed adhesive resins which adhere both dental alloy and tooth structure can minimize such troubles if they were used as setting materials of prosthetics. In this study, the degree of marginal leakage of adhesive resins was compared ...

Effects of dental adhesive cement and surface treatment on bond strength and leakage of zirconium oxide ceramics.

To evaluate the interactive influence of adhesive materials and surface treatments on bond strength of zirconium oxide ceramics, six types of adhesive resin cements (RelyX ARC (RA), Super-Bond C & B (SB), Linkmax (LM), Panavia Fluoro Cement (PF), Bistite II (BT), and Imperva Dual (ID)), three types of resin-reinforced glass ionomer cements (Xeno Cem Plus (XC), Vitremer Luting (VR), and Fuji Lut...

Microleakage comparison of three types of adhesive systems versus GIC-based adhesive in class V composite restorations

Background and aims: New dentin bonding agents and techniques have been developed to reduce microleakage and create higher bond strength. This in-vitro study compared the microleakage of three resin-based adhesives versus a GIC-based adhesive on class V composite restorations.  Materials and Methods: Class V cavities were prepared on the buccal surfaces of 72 sound premolars, randomly assigned ...

Simple methods to enhance bond strength of self-adhesive resin cements

The use of self-adhesive resin cements is accomplished by a simple clinical step, in which the simultaneous demineralization/infiltration of the bonding substrate takes place. However, the self-adhesive resin cements have lower bond strength than conventional resin cements that rely on the application of etch-and-rinse adhesive systems. In order to increase the bond strength of the self-adhesiv...
