Introduction 1. The FSA is a statutory consultee to the Environment Agency (EA) and the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) for applications to dispose of radioactive material under the Radioactive Substances Act 1993. So that the Agency can comment on the acceptability of proposed discharges, it must estimate the potential doses to consumers of food that contains activity as a consequence of the discharges.
