چکیده

Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) offers a wide range of benefits to both enterprises and communications & network service providers. It provides an alternate way to make a telephone call as compared to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN). The industry is slowly recognizing the potential of Voice over IP and many VOIP applications have been developed in the last ten years. This work aims at examining number of problems that causes major obstacles to VoIP. This paper proposes and presents a new model of packet building namely multiple frames into a single packet (MFSP). We first, have studied the way the VoIP packets are organized, then illustrated advantages and limitations of existing voice packet’s structures. Lastly, we have proposed a new model of packet building namely multiple frames into a single packet (MFSP). The new model mitigates the existing VoIP obstacles such as minimizing the VoIP traffic through out the network and drop of VoIP packets as well as packet headers. The proposed protocol will be focused specially on the variation of the delay (well known as jitter), which is vital for VoIP QoS (quality of service). Simulation was done using NS-2 simulator. Simulation results show the ability of MFSP to eliminate the packet dropping in VoIP.

Analysis and Modeling of VoIP Servers: A Linear Programming Approach

The SIP protocol was standardized by the IETF at the application layer for initiating, managing, and terminating multimedia sessions and has been widely used as the main signaling protocol on both the Internet and VoIP networks. Most challenges in this protocol are overload and lack of proper state distribution. These challenges cause a wide range of next-generation network users to face a shar...

Semantic Constraint and QoS-Aware Large-Scale Web Service Composition

Service-oriented architecture facilitates the running time of interactions by using business integration on the networks. Currently, web services are considered as the best option to provide Internet services. Due to an increasing number of Web users and the complexity of users’ queries, simple and atomic services are not able to meet the needs of users; and to provide complex services, it requ...

Session-Level and Network-Level SLA Structures and VoIP Service Policy over DiffServ-Based MPLS Networks

This paper proposes a framework for session-level SLA (Service Level Agreement) and network-level SLA management to provide QoS-oriented application services over DiffServ/MPLS networks. DiffServ and MPLS technologies enhance the capability of QoS guarantee on IP network, and application service provider can provide QoS-oriented application services to their customers based on the transport net...

Reconfigurable Architecture to enhance QoS for VoIP networks

Reconfigurable systems provide improved performance by adapting to computations which are not feasible with current processor architecture. As Voice over IP networks (VoIP) are delay sensistive, maintaining quality of service in these networks is essential. Since VoIP is offering real time services, degradation of QoS due to the channel can be rectified only at the receiver end . In this paper, ...
