Stability of light positronic atoms: Quantum Monte Carlo studies.

چکیده
We present accurate ground-state energies for the positronium atom in a Coulomb field of point charge Z (XPs!, for the positronium hydrogen ~HPs! and positronium lithium ~LiPs! atoms. Calculations are done using the diffusion quantum Monte Carlo ~DQMC! method. For XPs, the critical value of Z for binding is examined. While HPs is stable, the results show that LiPs is unstable against dissociation to a lithium atom and a positronium. @S1050-2947~96!04512-X#

O ct 2 00 1 Annihilation rate in positronic systems by quantum Monte Carlo . e + LiH as test case
An accurate method to compute the annihilation rate in positronic systems by means of quantum Monte Carlo simulations is tested and compared with previously proposed methods using simple model systems. This method can be applied within all the quantum Monte Carlo techniques, just requiring to accumulate the positron-electron distribution function. The annihilation rate of eLiH as a function of ...
متن کاملCold collisions in strong laser fields: partial wave analysis of magnesium collisions
We have developed Monte Carlo wave function simulation schemes to study cold collisions between magnesium atoms in a strong red-detuned laser field. In order to address the strong-field problem, we extend the Monte Carlo wave function framework to include the partial wave structure of the threedimensional system. The average heating rate due to radiative collisions is calculated with two differ...
متن کاملGrover search algorithm with Rydberg-blockaded atoms: quantum Monte Carlo simulations
We consider the Grover search algorithm implementation for a quantum register of size = N 2k using k (or + k 1) microwaveand laser-driven Rydberg-blockaded atoms, following the proposal by Mølmer et al (2011 J. Phys. B 44 184016). We suggest some simplifications for the microwave and laser couplings, and analyze the performance of the algorithm for up to k = 4 multilevel atoms under realistic e...
متن کاملMonitoring the Dipole-Dipole Interaction via Quantum Jumps of Individual Atoms
The emission characteristics in the fluorescence of two laserdriven dipole-dipole-interacting three level atoms is investigated. When the light from both atoms is detected separately a correlation of the emission processes is observed in dependence of the dipole-dipole interaction. This opens the possibility to investigate the dipole-dipole interaction through the emission behavior. We present ...
