Job submission to grid computing environments

چکیده
The problem of enabling scientist users to submit jobs to grid computing environments will eventually limit the usability of grids. The eMinerals project has tackled this problem by developing the “my_condor_submit” (MCS) tool, which provides a simple scriptable interface to Globus, a flexible interaction with the Storage Resource Broker, metascheduling with load balancing within a grid environment, and automatic metadata harvesting. This paper provides an overview of MCS together with a use case. We also describe the use of MCS within parameter-sweep studies.

Open Source Portal Framework for Job Submission
This paper describes the Open Source Portal Framework (OSPF) for job submission to grid, which is developed based on JSR168 Portlet standard, with GridSphere Portal Framework, Globus Middleware and Gridway Meta-Scheduler. OSPF is providing web portal interface for Open Source Grid Community with the ultimate aim of accessing the distributed computing resources. This portal framework provisions ...
متن کاملDynamic BLAST – a Grid Enabled BLAST
Basic Local Alignment Search Tool (BLAST) is a heavily used bioinformatics application that has gotten significant attention from the high performance computing community. The authors have taken BLAST execution a step further and enabled it to execute on grid resources. Adapting BLAST to execute on the grid brings up concerns regarding grid resource heterogeneity, which inevitably cause difficu...

متن کاملDesign of a Fault-tolerant Job-flow Manager for Grid Environments Using Standard Technologies, Job-flow Patterns, and a Transparent Proxy
The execution of job flow applications is a reality today in academic and industrial domains. Current approaches to execution of job flows often follow proprietary solutions on expressing the job flows and do not leverage recurrent job-flow patterns to address faults in Grid computing environments. In this paper, we provide a design solution to development of job-flow managers that uses standar...
متن کاملAn Agent Based Dynamic Resource Scheduling Model with FCFS-Job Grouping Strategy in Grid Computing
Grid computing is a group of clusters connected over high-speed networks that involves coordinating and sharing computational power, data storage and network resources operating across dynamic and geographically dispersed locations. Resource management and job scheduling are critical tasks in grid computing. Resource selection becomes challenging due to heterogeneity and dynamic availability of...
