Behavioural Coordination in Acoustically Coupled Agents

چکیده

Approaching behaviour is studied in simulated agents interacting acous-tically. A genetic algorithm is used to evolve a fully recurrent, continuous neural network for controlling the agents. Evolved agents actively discriminate the location of external sources of sound. Their own signalling behaviour is integrated with their search behaviour and sensor gain regulation through self-hearing. Coupled agents show signs of structural congruence as they perform dancing patterns in space, while the same agents behave very diierently when acting on their own or in the presence of a source of sound that imitates their signal patterns.

Variable Structure Behavioural Controller for Multi-agent Systems

In previous papers authors have considered agents as inertia-less self driven particles and designed a flocking algorithm. Application of this algorithm to agents with considerable inertial characteristics needs a behavioural controller. The controller uses the local information and helps every agent to imitate the desired behaviour as a member of the flocking frame which covers the main is...

Gait coordination after stroke: benefits of acoustically paced treadmill walking.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Gait coordination often is compromised after stroke. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of acoustically paced treadmill walking as a method for improving gait coordination in people after stroke. PARTICIPANTS Ten people after stroke volunteered for the study and comprised the experimental group. Nine elderly people who were healthy served as a contro...
