Real Measurements and Evaluation of the Influence of Atmospheric Phenomena on FSO Combined with Modulation Formats

چکیده
The influence of atmospheric environment is fundamental for Free-Space Optical link (FSO). The atmosphere can significantly degrade the communication quality of FSO up to so low received power/RSSI level that it can lead to the loss of communication. For this reason, authors used a professional weather station built on site of FSO link for measurement of real atmospheric conditions such as wind speed, temperature, relative air humidity, air pressure and solar radiation. Random changing of these atmosphere parameters creates atmospheric turbulences, absorption and dispersion centers. It is necessary to specify the value of refractive index structure parameter because it determines the influence of atmosphere on the FSO. The first part of this article includes the theoretical calculation of , there are used two models PAMELA and MacroscaleMeteorological model. The evaluation of the atmospheric influences and the RSSI value of received power level and also simulation of different types of modulation formats OOK-RZ, OOK-NRZ and BPSK in Optiwave is integral part of this article. 2 n C

The Performance in FSO Communication Due to Atmospheric Turbulence Via Utilizing New Dual Diffuser Modulation Approach
A new transmission and detection technique namely Dual Diffuser Modulation (DDM) for free space optical (FSO) communication systems is proposed. FSO communication systems can provide the line-of-sight optical transmission with low cost and good security. However, the distance dependent atmospheric turbulence and path-loss affect widespread use of FSO systems and limit their application to short...

In this paper, the gamma–gamma probability distribution is used to model turbulent channels. The bit error rate (BER) performance of free space optical (FSO) communication systems employing on-off keying (OOK) or subcarrier binary phase-shift keying (BPSK) modulation format is derived. A tip-tilt adaptive optics system is also incorporated with a FSO system using the above modulation formats. T...

A new upper bound on the capacity of powerand bandwidth-constrained optical wireless links over gamma-gamma atmospheric turbulence channels with intensity modulation and direct detection is derived when on-off keying (OOK) formats are used. In this free-space optical (FSO) scenario, unlike previous capacity bounds derived from the classic capacity of the well-known additive white Gaussian noise...
