چکیده

Squeezed correlations of particle-antiparticle pairs, also called Back-toBack Correlations, are predicted to appear if the hadron masses are modified in the hot and dense hadronic medium formed in high energy nucleus-nucleus collisions. Although well-established theoretically, the squeezed-particle correlations have not yet been searched for experimentally in high energy hadronic or heavy ion collisions, clearly requiring optimized forms to experimentally search for this effect. Within a nonrelativistic treatment developed earlier we show that one promising way to search for the BBC signal is to look into the squeezed correlation function of pairs of φ’s at RHIC energies, plotted in terms of the average momentum of the pair, K12= 1 2 (k1 + k2). This variable’s modulus, 2|K12|, is the non-relativistic limit of the variable Qbbc, introduced herewith. The squeezing effects on the HBT correlation function are also discussed.

Interaction induced photon-number entangled temporal soliton pairs

The quantum fluctuations of two out-of-phase time-separated temporal solitons are calculated. Almost perfect positive correlation between their photon-number fluctuations can be achieved after propgating a certain distance and with suitable initial separation. OCIS codes: (270.5530, 270.6570) Pulse propagation and solitons, Squeezed states. After the first realization of quantum teleportation w...

The related studies of two-particle correlations and event-by-event fluctuations have played important roles in the search for new physics through the experimental study of relativistic heavy ion collisions. We present a general method of determining minimum-bias two-particle correlations and show the relationship between these correlations and event-by-event fluctuations. Data from the STAR ex...

Interpreting Near-side Correlations and the RHIC Beam Energy Scan

Recent data from heavy ion collisions at RHIC show strong near-side correlations extending over several units of rapidity. This ridge-like correlation exhibits an abrupt onset with collision centrality. In this talk, I argue that the centrality and beam-energy dependence of these near-angle correlations could provide access to information about the Quark Gluon Plasma phase boundary and the Equa...

Dissipation and fragmentation of low - Q 2 scattered partons in Au - Au collisions at RHIC

Two-particle correlations and event-wise fluctuations in transverse momentum p t are reported for Au-Au collisions at √ s N N = 62 and 200 GeV on pseudorapidity η and azimuth φ. Distributions of all pairs of particles (no leading trigger particle) reveal jet-like correlations, or peaks at pair-wise opening angles of order 1 radian or less. The width of this same-side correlation peak increases ...
