A fractionally spaced blind equalization algorithm with global convergence
نویسنده
چکیده
Two different fractionally spaced extensions of the SubGradient based Blind equalization Algorithm (SGBA) are provided. The first one is the direct extension of the linearly constrained SGBA for the symbol spaced setting. The second extension is the weighted and the 2-norm constrained fractionally spaced SGBA (FS-SGBA) algorithm. It is proven that the latter algorithm is globally convergent to a perfect equalization point under the well-known equalizability conditions for the fractionally spaced setting. The simulation results provided illustrates the relative merit of the proposed algorithm in comparison to the state of the art algorithms. r 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

A Modified T/2 Fractionally Spaced Coordinate Transformation Blind Equalization Algorithm
When T/2 Fractionally Spaced blind Equalization Algorithm based Constant Modulus Algorithm (T/2-FSECMA) is employed for equalizing higher order Quadrature Amplitude Modulation signals (QAM), it has disadvantages of low convergence speed and large Mean Square Error (MSE). For overcoming these disadvantages, a Modified T/2 Fractionally Spaced blind Equalization algorithm based on Coordinate Trans...
متن کاملFractionally spaced blind equalization with low-complexity concurrent constant modulus algorithm and soft decision-directed scheme
The paper proposes a low-complexity concurrent constant modulus algorithm (CMA) and soft decisiondirected (SDD) scheme for fractionally spaced blind equalization of high-order quadrature amplitude modulation channels. We compare our proposed blind equalizer with the recently introduced state-of-art concurrent CMA and decision-directed (DD) scheme. The proposed CMA+SDD blind equalizer is shown t...
متن کاملCMA Fractionally Spaced Equalizers: Stationary Points and Stability under IID and Temporally Correlated Sources
A common assumption in blind equalization schemes using the Constant Modulus Algorithm (CMA) is that the source sequence is an independent identically distributed (i.i.d.) sequence with equiprobable symbols. Much of the analysis demonstrating the global convergence of CMA in a noiseless channel to an open-eye setting uses this assumption. This work investigates the effect of source statistics (...
متن کاملAdaptive soft-constraint satisfaction (SCS) algorithms for fractionally-spaced blind equalizers
Constant Modulus algorithms based on a deterministic error criterion are presented. Soft constraint satisfaction methods yield a general family of blind equalization algorithms employing nonlinear functions of the equalizer output which must satisfy certain conditions. The algorithms are also extended to cover fractionally-spaced blind equalization. A normalization factor which appears as a res...
متن کاملFractionally-spaced constant modulus algorithm blind equalizer error surface characterization: effects of source distributions
The Constant Modulus Algorithm (CMA) [11], [5] is a popular blind equalization algorithm. A common device used in demonstrating the convergence properties of CMA is the assumption that the source sequence is iid (independent, identically distributed). Recent results in the literature show that a finite length fractionally-spaced equalizer allows for perfect equalization of moving average channe...
