Global Exponential Stabilization of Acyclic Traffic Networks

چکیده
This work is devoted to the construction of explicit feedback control laws for the robust, global, exponential stabilization of general, uncertain, discrete-time, acyclic traffic networks. We consider discrete-time, uncertain network models which satisfy very weak assumptions. The construction of the controllers and the rigorous proof of the robust, global, exponential stability for the closed-loop system are based on recently proposed vectorLyapunov function criteria, as well as the fact that the network is acyclic. It is shown, in this study, that the latter requirement is necessary for the existence of a robust, global, exponential stabilizer of the desired uncongested equilibrium point of the network. An illustrative example demonstrates the applicability of the obtained results to realistic traffic flow networks.

Improving Connectionist Energy Minimization
Symmetric networks designed for energy minimization such as Boltzman machines and Hop eld nets are frequently investigated for use in optimization, constraint satisfaction and approximation of NP-hard problems. Nevertheless, nding a global solution (i.e., a global minimum for the energy function) is not guaranteed and even a local solution may take an exponential number of steps. We propose an ...
متن کاملGlobal Asymptotic and Exponential Stability of Tri-Cell Networks with Different Time Delays
In this paper, a bidirectional ring network with three cells and different time delays is presented. To propose this model which is a good extension of three-unit neural networks, coupled cell network theory and neural network theory are applied. In this model, every cell has self-connections without delay but different time delays are assumed in other connections. A suitable Lyapun...
متن کاملLongest Path in Networks of Queues in the Steady-State
Due to the importance of longest path analysis in networks of queues, we develop an analytical method for computing the steady-state distribution function of longest path in acyclic networks of queues. We assume the network consists of a number of queuing systems and each one has either one or infinite servers. The distribution function of service time is assumed to be exponential or Erlang. Fu...
متن کاملGlobal Stabilization of Attitude Dynamics: SDRE-based Control Laws
The State-Dependant Riccati Equation method has been frequently used to design suboptimal controllers applied to nonlinear dynamic systems. Different methods for local stability analysis of SDRE controlled systems of order greater than two such as the attitude dynamics of a general rigid body have been extended in literature; however, it is still difficult to show global stability properties of...
متن کاملGlobal Stability Results for Traffic Networks
This paper provides sufficient conditions for global asymptotic stability and global exponential stability, which can be applied to nonlinear, large-scale, uncertain discrete-time systems. The conditions are derived by means of vector Lyapunov functions. The obtained results are applied to traffic networks for the derivation of sufficient conditions of global exponential stability of the uncong...
