Junctional Escape and Respiratory Sinus Arrhythmia with Acute Cholecystitis
نویسنده
چکیده
Background: Bradycardias have been reported (rarely) associated with acute cholecystitis. Data extraction: We here present the first reported case in which acute cholecystitis was associated with self-limited episodes of slow junctional escape (40/min) and marked sinus arrhythmia. Conclusion: Brady-arrhythmias have been associated with acute biliary disease consistent with the putative mechanism of the “cardiobiliary reflex”, i.e., marked vagotonia.

Role of the sinus node in the mechanism of cholinergic atrial fibrillation.
The effect of suppressing sinus rhythm on initiation and maintenance of atrial fibrillation was studied in 17 thoraeotomized and artificially ventilated dogs. Atrial fibrillation was evoked by methacholine chloride applied to the right atrium followed by light mechanical stimulation. Episodes of fibrillation were compared before and after sinus rhythm had been suppressed by injection of absolut...
متن کاملAlcohol consumption, sinus tachycardia, and cardiac arrhythmias at the Munich Octoberfest: results from the Munich Beer Related Electrocardiogram Workup Study (MunichBREW)
Aims Alcohol is a risk factor for cardiac arrhythmias. Retrospective analyses suggest supraventricular arrhythmias consecutive to acute alcohol consumption, but prospective data are limited. We intended to prospectively associate acute alcohol consumption with cardiac arrhythmias. Methods and results At the 2015 Munich Octoberfest, we enrolled 3028 voluntary participants who received a smartp...
