چکیده
HYPERACUTE REJEcrION of human renal allografts in ABO compatible cases was first reported by TerasakU Kissmeyer-Nielson,~ Williams,3 and Starzl-l have further documented this problem, which has now been encountered in many active-transplant centers. Hyperacute rejection is initiated by preformed antidonor antibodies and may result in the destruction of the transplant within minutes of vasculariza-tion. A characteristic of this reaction is thrombotic occlusion of the microvascula-ture.~··;. The rejection of xenografts in widely divergent species, such as the pig to dog combination, is similar to hyperacute rejection in humans. Naturally occurring heterospecific antibodies apparently cause rejection of renal xenografts within 6-15 minutes. 6 The following experiments were designed to determine whether the xeno-graft response could be modified by selective plasmapheresis (SPF) , an electro-phoretic process which can extract gamma globulin from the circulating blood.

Plasmapheresis- Review Article
Plasmapheresis, which is defined as the removal of plasma, can be either "adjusted plasma" or “exchange of plasma”. The former is defined as selective withdrawal of certain (un)-pathological plasma components in different ways such as perfusion and then returning the remained donor plasma to him, the latter is non-selective removal of all components of plasma to provide blood products for injec...
متن کاملEvaluating Equivalent Damping and Response Modification Factors of Frames Equipped by Pall Friction Dampers
A study on the evaluating equivalent damping and response modification factors of frames equipped by Pall Friction Dampers is presented. To do so, buildings with various stories were considered. Nonlinear and linear dynamic time history analysis has been performed to evaluate equivalent damping for Pall Friction Dampers. Ground motions with various frequency characteristics scaled with Iranian ...

Binding of natural anti-pig antibodies in humans and nonhuman primates to carbohydrate antigens expressed on the transplanted pig organ, the most important of which is galactose-α1,3-galactose (Gal), activate the complement cascade, which results in destruction of the graft within minutes or hours, known as hyperacute rejection. Even if antibody is removed from the recipient's blood by plasmaph...

Background & Aims: Multiple sclerosis (MS) is the most common cause of disability with cognitive impairments. The current study aimed to investigate the effect of cognitive rehabilitation (CR) on cognitive flexibility, response inhibition, and selective attention in patients with MS. Materials and Methods: The current quasi-experimental study with a pretest-posttest plot and a control group wa...
متن کاملSelective Magnetic Removal of Pb(II) from Aqueous Solution by Porphyrin Linked-Magnetic Nanoparticles
The discharge of lead containing effluents into the environment and water bodies is harmful for the human, animals, aquatic flora and fauna. Herein, a novel surface engineered magnetic nanoparticle for removing Pb2+ ions was studied. After surface modification of the magnetite by 3-amino-propyltriethoxysilane (APTES) magnetic nanoparticles with covalently linked porphyrins were synthesize...
