Queueing Behavior of Hashing Methods Used to Build URL Routing Tables

This study pioneers a new way to study the performance of hashing algorithms by evaluating their queueing behavior. We examine hashing as applied to URL routing used in Content Distribution Networks (CDNs). URL routing tables can be built as self-adjusting hash tables to reduce network bandwidth consumption in CDNs and at the same time take advantage of the high temporal locality of Web documen...

A Review of Optical Routers in Photonic Networks-on-Chip: A Literature Survey

Due to the increasing growth of processing cores in complex computational systems, all the connection converted bottleneck for all systems. With the protection of progressing and constructing complex photonic connection on chip, optical data transmission is the best choice for replacing with electrical interconnection for the reason of gathering connection with a high bandwidth and insertion lo...

Efficient Subscription Management in Content-based Networks

Content-based publish/subscribe systems offer a convenient abstraction for data producer and consumers, as most of the complexity related to addressing and routing is encapsulated within the network infrastructure. A major challenge of content-based networks is their ability to efficiently cope with changes in consumer membership. In our XNET XML content network, we have addressed this issue by...

Non-Blocking Routers Design Based on West First Routing Algorithm & MZI Switches for Photonic NoC

For the first time, the 4- and 5-port optical routers are designed by using the West First routing algorithm for use in optical network on chip. The use of the WF algorithm has made the designed routers to provide non-blocking routing in photonic network on chip. These routers not only are based on high speed Mach-Zehnder switches(Which have a higher bandwidth and more thermal tolerance than mi...

A Scalable Protocol for Content-Based Routing in Overlay Networks

In content networks, messages are routed on the basis of their content and the interests (subscriptions) of the message consumers. This form of routing offers an interesting alternative to unicast or multicast communication in looselycoupled distributed systems with large number of consumers, with diverse interests, wide geographical dispersion, and heterogeneous resources (e.g., CPU, bandwidth...
