Complex continuations of ℝan, exp-definable unary functions with a diophantine application

چکیده
Let F denote the field of germs at +∞ of Ran,exp-definable unary functions. Starting from its characterization in terms of closure conditions as given by van den Dries, Macintyre and Marker ([3], [4]), we give a similar description of its subring consisting of the germs of polynomial growth. More precisely, denoting this ring by Fpoly and its unique maximal ideal by mpoly, our description picks out a subfield Rpoly of representatives of the residue field of Fpoly modulo mpoly. In fact, such a construction, in considerably greater generality, was already carried out in 1997 by F-V. Kuhlmann and S. Kuhlmann (unpublished, see arXiv:1206.0711v1 [math.LO]) using valuation theoretic methods, but our main aim here is to investigate the complex extensions of the functions under consideration. It turns out that Rpoly consists precisely of those (germs of) Ran,exp-definable unary functions that have an Ran,exp-definable analytic continuation to a right half plane of C and we use this fact to give a different proof of the Kuhlmann result. (Roughly speaking, the (real) valuation theory is replaced by the Phragmén-Lindelöf method applied to the complex continuations.)

Definable sets in algebraically closed valued fields: elimination of imaginaries
It is shown that if K is an algebraically closed valued field with valuation ring R, then Th(K) has elimination of imaginaries if sorts are added whose elements are certain cosets in K of certain definable R-submodules of K (for all n ≥ 1). The proof involves the development of a theory of independence for unary types, which play the role of 1-types, followed by an analysis of germs of definabl...
متن کاملOrdered O-stable Groups
An ordered structure M is called o-λ-stable if for any subset A with |A| ≤ λ and for any cut in M there are at most λ 1-types over A which are consistent with the cut. It is proved in the paper that an ordered o-stable group is abelian. Also there were investigated definable subsets and unary functions of o-stable groups.
متن کاملO-minimal Analytic Separation of Sets in Dimension 2
We study the Hardy field associated with an o-minimal expansion of the real numbers. If the set of analytic germs is dense in the Hardy field, then we can definably analytic separate sets in R2, and we can definably analytic approximate definable continuous unary functions.
متن کاملOn Existential Definitions of C.e. Subsets of Rings of Functions of Characteristic 0
We extend results of Denef, Zahidi, Demeyer and the second author to show the following. (1) Rational integers have a single-fold Diophantine definition over the ring of integral functions of any function field of characteristic 0. (2) Every c.e. set of integers has a finite-fold Diophantine definition over the ring of integral functions of any function field of characteristic 0. (3) All c.e. s...
متن کاملA monotonicity theorem for dp-minimal densely ordered groups
Dp-minimality is a common generalization of weak minimality and weak o-minimality. If T is a weakly o-minimal theory then it is dp-minimal (Fact 2.2), but there are dp-minimal densely ordered groups that are not weakly o-minimal. We introduce the even more general notion of inpminimality and prove that in an inp-minimal densely ordered group, every definable unary function is a union of finitel...
