چکیده

A low-temperature electro-optic sampling system was implemented to study the crosstalk of picosecond pulses between on-chip microstrip interconnects. With a submillivolt sensitivity and a subpicosecond temporal response, this system has allowed noninvasive, nodal testing of superconducting Nb integrated circuits. We have characterized pulse propagation and the crosstalk arising from two microstrip waveguides crossing perpendicular to each other, with one signal line crossing above the other. These results provided direct feedback for improving computer simulations of superconducting electronic circuits, but they are representative of any high-speed interconnect in today’s very large scale integrated circuit technology. © 1998 American Institute of Physics. @S0003-6951~98!04639-7#

Simulator for Interconnects and General Multiline Analysis (SIGMA): Simulation Algorithm of Lossy Multiple Transmission Lines

Fast and accurate evaluation of signal transients on interconnects become an essential part of today’s highspeed and high-density digital system design. Particularly, as the electrical length of interconnects continues to increase, the transmission line effects such as crosstalk, propagation delay, reflection, and dispersion on the interconnects of the high-performance systems significantly deg...

Simulation of High-Speed Interconnects

With the rapid developments in very large-scale integration (VLSI) technology, design and computer-aided design (CAD) techniques, at both the chip and package level, the operating frequencies are fast reaching the vicinity of gigahertz and switching times are getting to the subnanosecond levels. The ever increasing quest for high-speed applications is placing higher demands on interconnect perf...

Signal Integrity Analysis of High Speed Interconnects In PCB Embedded with EBG Structures

This paper brings out a novel method for reducing Near end and Far end Crosstalk using Electromagnetic Band Gap structures (EBG) in High Speed RF transmission lines. This work becomes useful in high speed closely spaced Printed Circuit Board (PCB) traces connected to multi core processors. By using this method, reduction of -40dB in Near-End Crosstalk (NEXT) and -60 dB in Far End Crosstalk (FEX...

Comprehensive Evaluation of Crosstalk and Delay Profiles in VLSI Interconnect Structures with Partially Coupled Lines

In this paper, we present a methodology to explore and evaluate the crosstalk noise and the profile of its variations, and the delay of interconnects through investigation of two groups of interconnect structures in nano scale VLSI circuits. The interconnect structures in the first group are considered to be partially coupled identical lines. In this case, by choosing proper values for differen...

Time Domain Analysis of Graphene Nanoribbon Interconnects Based on Transmission Line ‎Model

Time domain analysis of multilayer graphene nanoribbon (MLGNR) interconnects, based on ‎transmission line modeling (TLM) using a six-order linear parametric expression, has been ‎presented for the first time. We have studied the effects of interconnect geometry along with ‎its contact resistance on its step response and Nyquist stability. It is shown that by increasing ‎interconnects dimensions...
