Combining Multiple Knowledge Bases
نویسندگان
چکیده
AbstmctKnowledge present in multiple knowledge bases might need to be reviewed to make decisions based on the combined knowledge. We define the concept of combining knowledge present in a set of knowledge bases and present algorithms to maximally combine them SQ that the combination is consistent with respect to the integrity constraints associated with the knowledge bases. For this we define the concept of maximality and prove that the algorithms presented combine the knowledge bases to generate a maximal theory. We also discuss the relationships between combining multiple knowledge bases and the view update problem.

Verification Issues in Combining Independently Consistent Theories
This paper addresses verification issues in combining knowledge bases or theories from different sources. Tile knowledge may be acquired using direct knowledge acquisition or inductive learning methods. Keeping the consistency of knowledge becomes all important issue when integrating two or more knowledge bases. Several independently consistent knowledge bases may give an inconsistent system wh...
متن کاملValidation of Computational Models Based on Multiple Heterogeneous Knowledge Sources
Theories of organizations have brought together multiple heterogeneous theories in computational models. In addition, in artificial intelligence, there has been an emphasis on the generation of knowledge-based systems that include multiple heterogeneous knowledge bases. As a result, increasingly, theory and model developers have called for the need to validate these computational models. Unfort...
متن کاملCombining Vector Space Embeddings with Symbolic Logical Inference over Open-Domain Text
We have recently shown how to combine random walk inference over knowledge bases with vector space representations of surface forms, improving performance on knowledge base inference. In this paper, we formalize the connection of our prior work to logical inference rules, giving some general observations about methods for incorporating vector space representations into symbolic logic systems. A...
متن کاملAn Argumentation Framework for Merging Conflicting Knowledge Bases: The Prioritized Case
An important problem in the management of knowledge-based systems is the handling of inconsistency. Inconsistency may appear because the knowledge may come from different sources of information. To solve this problem, two kinds of approaches have been proposed. The first category merges the different bases into a unique base, and the second category of approaches, such as argumentation, accepts...
متن کاملCombining Open-domain and Biomedical Knowledge for Topic Recognition in Consumer Health Questions
Determining the main topics in consumer health questions is a crucial step in their processing as it allows narrowing the search space to a specific semantic context. In this paper we propose a topic recognition approach based on biomedical and open-domain knowledge bases. In the first step of our method, we recognize named entities in consumer health questions using an unsupervised method that...
