چکیده
Many forest stands in this country as well as in numerous underdeveloped countries, are overstocked with small-diameter trees (Wolfe 2000, Wolfe and Moseley 2000). These trees pose both a health hazard and a fire hazard to the forests, and excess stems should be removed, but presently they have too little market value to justify their removal. Before these stems are utilized, value-added products must be developed that take advantage of their unique physical characteristics and availability.
