Biorational insecticide on Brinjal

چکیده
In the present study, bioefficacy of spinosad (56.25, 72 and 90 g a.i. ha -1 ) and emamectin benzoate (5, 6.25 and 12.5 g a.i.ha -1 ) was studied in comparison to cypermethrin (50 g a.i. ha -1 ) and selfformulated neem seed extract (5 %). Field experiments were undertaken for two cropping seasons during kharif 2005 and summer 2006. From the study it was found that spinosad afforded moderate control of jassid, whitefly and aphid. However, it was found to be the most effective against BSFB. Although corresponding yield recorded in cypermethrin (check treatment) was higher (16.30 and 21.01 t ha -1 ) it was not significantly different than that noticed in spinosad and emamectin benzoate.

Fate of benfuracarb insecticide in mollisols and brinjal crop.
The fate of benfuracarb was studied under field conditions in brinjal fruits and soil following foliar spray application at 0.25 and 0.50 microg g(-1) by HPLC. At 0.25 microg g(-1), benfuracarb persisted up to 7 days both in soil and brinjal but at 0.50 microg g(-1), benfuracarb residues persisted up to 10 and 12 days in soil and brinjal fruits, respectively. The persistence of benfuracarb resi...
متن کاملAn Assessment of Carbaryl Residues on Brinjal Crop in an Agricultural Field in Bikaner, Rajasthan (India)
Solanum melongena Linn. (brinjal) is the most common, popular and principal vegetable crop grown in many geographical parts in India. This staple vegetable crop is extensively damaged by the insects and farmers use large quantities of chemical insecticides, Carbaryl being one of them. The present study was undertaken to evaluate the persistence of Carbaryl on brinjal (fruit) and soil in an agri...
متن کاملBiorational approaches to managing stored-product insects.
Stored-product insects can cause postharvest losses, estimated from up to 9% in developed countries to 20% or more in developing countries. There is much interest in alternatives to conventional insecticides for controlling stored-product insects because of insecticide loss due to regulatory action and insect resistance, and because of increasing consumer demand for product that is free of inse...
متن کاملCould biorational insecticides be used in the management of aflatoxigenic Aspergillus parasiticus and its insect vectors in stored wheat?
Insect pests in stored wheat cause significant losses and play an important role in the dispersal of viable fungal spores of various species including aflatoxin producing Aspergillus parasiticus. The problem of insecticide resistance in stored insects and environmental hazards associated with fumigants and conventional grain protectants underscore the need to explore reduced risk insecticides t...
متن کاملEvaluation of toxicity of biorational insecticides against larvae of the alfalfa weevil
The alfalfa weevil, Hypera postica (Coleoptera: Curculionidae), is a major pest of alfalfa Medicago sativa L. (Fabaceae). While H. postica usually causes the most damage before the first cutting, in summer of 2015 damaging levels of the pest persisted in Montana well after the first harvest of alfalfa. Although conventional insecticides can control H. postica, these chemicals have adverse effec...
