چکیده
Computer graphics animation systems provide the ability to integrate on-site engineers’ expertise into design systems as well as construction management processes. Computer graphics animation improves coordination and communication among engineering, construction and client organizations. The expedited communication leads to a substantial improvement of quality and productivity in the AEC industry. Computer graphics animation makes it possible to move through the design objects and view the proposed facility interactively in virtual environment. In this way, all participants can work as a team beyond their specific interests. A collaborative work environment is created. The paper introduces the application of computer graphics animation as a tool for the construction management in terms of computer integrated construction, evaluates the role and proposes recommendations for the application. In order to verify the effectiveness of the application, a case study was performed in a highway reconstruction project in Kobe, Japan, where much of its infrastructure suffered from severe damages due to the Great Hanshin Earthquake in 1995. The study showed its superiority as a communication tool to the common paper-only tool. 1) Chief Civil Engineer

health consequences and the response to the Great Hanshin-Awaji (Kobe) earthquake, which struck on January 17,1995, at 5:46 a.m., at an epicenter about 15 km to the south west of Kobe city in western Japan (Figure 1). Since Japan lies on the intersection of four tectonic plates, it has been hit by a number of earthquakes throughout its history (Table 1). The Great Hanshin-Awaji earthquake -of m...

This paper examines the short-, mediumand long-term impacts of the 1995 Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, which, like the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, inflicted devastating damage, on the labor market of the disaster-affected areas. This analysis might help us draw up a long-term vision of the reconstruction of the eastern Japan areas devastated by the Great East Japan Earthquake. To sum up o...
متن کاملComparison of cardiovascular mortality in the Great East Japan and the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquakes - a large-scale data analysis of death certificates.
BACKGROUND Large earthquakes have been associated with cardiovascular disease (CVD) mortality. In Japan, the 1995 Great Hanshin-Awaji (H-A) Earthquake was an urban-underground-type earthquake, whereas the 2011 Great East Japan (GEJ) Earthquake was an ocean-trench type. In the present study, we examined how these different earthquake types affected CVD mortality. METHODS AND RESULTS We examine...

Acute and Subacute Effects of the Great East Japan Earthquake on Home Blood Pressure Values To the Editor: The Great East Japan Earthquake hit northeast Japan at 2:46 PM on March 11, 2011, resulting in 20 000 dead or missing persons. Previous studies demonstrated that an increased incidence of cardiovascular disease was prolonged until a few months after the Hanshin-Awaji earthquake.1,2 This co...
