Coexisting hornblende and cummingtonite from the Khetri copper belt, Rajasthan, India
نویسنده
چکیده
Coexisting hornblende and cummingtonite in an amphibolite near Peliwali have been analysed. The rock formed by Fe-Mg addition and Ca removal from pre-existing amphibole quartzites within the altered wall rocks surrounding sulphide lodes. The amphibole compositions are controlled by the bulk composition of the rock. The Mg/(Mg+Fe 2+) ratio of the hornblende (o.66) is only slightly higher than that of the cummingtonite (o'64).

Impact of copper mines and smelter on groundwater quality (Case Study: Rajasthan State in India)
Rajasthan is one of the main mineral potential state of India. During the last 30 years it has witnessed enormous expansion of mining industries, but mining of most of the minor minerals coupled with changing climate has posed serious problems to the environmental fabric in the state, apart from base metal beneficiation plants. Groundwater is also being polluted day-by-day by effluents generate...

The calcareous rocks in the Takht-e- Soleyman area (NW Iran) crop out in association with a variety of metamorphic rocks including amphibolites, granitic gneisses, pelitic schists and meta-ultramafic rocks. Retrogressive metamorphism of these rocks occurred during decompressional cooling during exhumation. Cummingtonite-bearing rocks resulted from retrogression of the calc-silicates in the area...

The Bundelkhand-Aravalli craton is the most important lithotectonic unit in the central and western India where Paleoproterozoic Aravalli Supracrustal sequence has been deposited over an Archaean basement, the latter also known as the Banded Gneiss Complex (BGC). A NE-trending linear metasedimentary sequence, designated as the Jahazpur Belt occurs along the eastern fringe of the Aravalli Superg...
