چکیده
As with the scalar case, the equation is satisfied only at selected values of x = r = [r1, r2, · · · , rn], called the roots. The separation process model discussed in section §1.3.1 (variations 2 and 3, in particular) and the reaction sequence model of section §1.3.5 are two of the many examples in chemical engineering that give rise to such non-linear system of equations. As with the scalar case, the equations often depend on other parameters, and we will represent them as

ABS methods for nonlinear systems of algebraic equations
Abstract This paper gives a survey of the theory and practice of nonlinear ABS methods including various types of generalizations and computer testing. We also show three applications to special problems, two of which are new.
متن کاملThe Sine-Cosine Wavelet and Its Application in the Optimal Control of Nonlinear Systems with Constraint
In this paper, an optimal control of quadratic performance index with nonlinear constrained is presented. The sine-cosine wavelet operational matrix of integration and product matrix are introduced and applied to reduce nonlinear differential equations to the nonlinear algebraic equations. Then, the Newton-Raphson method is used for solving these sets of algebraic equations. To present ability ...
متن کاملA Software for Prediction of Periodic Response of Non-linear Multi Degree of Freedom Rotors Based on Harmonic Balances
It is the purpose of this paper to introduce a computer software that is developed for the analysis of general multi degree of freedom rotor bearing systems with non-linear support elements. A numerical-analytical method for the prediction of steady state periodic response of large order nonlinear rotor dynamic systems is addressed which is based on the harmonic balance technique. By utilizing ...
متن کاملApproximate solution of system of nonlinear Volterra integro-differential equations by using Bernstein collocation method
This paper presents a numerical matrix method based on Bernstein polynomials (BPs) for approximate the solution of a system of m-th order nonlinear Volterra integro-differential equations under initial conditions. The approach is based on operational matrices of BPs. Using the collocation points, this approach reduces the systems of Volterra integro-differential equations associated with the giv...
متن کاملChapter 7 Ordinary differential equations - Boundary value problems
In the present chapter we develop algorithms for solving systems of (linear or nonlinear) ordinary differential equations of the boundary value type. Such equations arise in describing distributed, steady state models in one spatial dimension. The differential equations are transformed into systems of (linear and nonlinear) algebraic equations through a discretization process. In doing so, we u...
