چکیده

OBJECTIVE To provide data for the analysis of arthroscopy as a method of surgical treatment for shoulder and discuss its actual indications and preliminary results. METHODS We evaluated 15 patients submitted to reverse Bankart arthroscopic surgery. We used the UCLA (University of California at Los Angeles) score to measure the results before surgery and 12 months thereafter. RESULTS The average UCLA score changed from 26.67±0.25 (SD 0.97) before surgery to 34.20±0.53 (SD 2.04) after surgery. The effectiveness of surgery was 93%. In five cases loose bodies were found. A patient undergoing remplissage was evaluated separately. The data did not change after 24 months post-surgery. CONCLUSION The arthroscopic treatment of posterior shoulder instability and posterior dislocation of the shoulder has been proved feasible and results in our series followed the same trends as in the literature. Level of Evidence III, Transversal Retrospective Study.

Posterior Shoulder Instability

CONTEXT Posterior shoulder instability has become more frequently recognized and treated as a unique subset of shoulder instability, especially in the military. Posterior shoulder pathology may be more difficult to accurately diagnose than its anterior counterpart, and commonly, patients present with complaints of pain rather than instability. Arthroscopic Labral Repair in the Setting of Recurrent Posterior Shoulder Instability

Posterior shoulder instability, although relatively rare in the general population, is more commonly seen in athletes, especially those in contact sports. Although nonoperative treatment has been associated with satisfactory results in the setting of posterior shoulder instability, conservative management may ultimately fail and lead to recurrence particularly in young, male patients. Both arth...

Recurrent posterior shoulder instability.

Recurrent posterior shoulder instability is an uncommon condition. It is often unrecognized, leading to incorrect diagnoses, delays in diagnosis, and even missed diagnoses. Posterior instability encompasses a wide spectrum of pathology, ranging from unidirectional posterior subluxation to multidirectional instability to locked posterior dislocations. Nonsurgical treatment of posterior shoulder ...

[Arthroscopic treatment of anterior-inferior shoulder instability].

OBJECTIVES We evaluated patients who underwent arthroscopic repair for posttraumatic, recurrent anterior-inferior glenohumeral instability with capsular laxity. METHODS Seventeen patients (4 females, 13 males; mean age 27 years; range 18 to 40 years) were treated with arthroscopic Bankart repair and posterior capsular plication for posttraumatic, recurrent anterior-inferior glenohumeral insta...
