چکیده

China is the biggest coal product and consumption country around the world. Lots of coal consumption resulted huge carbon dioxide (CO2) emission, especially for coal-fired power plant in China. Oxy-fuel combustion is currently considered to be one of the major technologies for CO2 capture in power plants. The ash formation mechanism and mineral transformation in high CO2 atmosphere is different to the traditional coal combustion in air. In this paper, systematic TG-DSC and tube furnace coal combustion experiments were conducted to investigate the mineral transformation and vaporization in oxyfuel atmosphere. The results indicated that:

Oxyfuel combustion: technical and economic considerations for the development of carbon capture from pulverized coal power plants

avoidance cost of carbon capture from pulverized coal plants. To investigate this possibility, a technoeconomic oxyfuel model was constructed. The model was exercised to explore the effect on CO2 avoidance cost and LCOE from several key parameters, namely: CO2 purity, oxidant purity, CPU and ASU performance and cost, coal composition, and geographic location. Monte-Carlo techniques were then us...

Oxyfuel Coal Combustion Power Plant System Optimization

Oxyfuel-firing of a steam boiler is a low risk high-efficiency technique for CO2 capture in a power plant. Oxyfuel-firing can be readily adapted to a new power plant or to retrofit applications. Development and design of pulverized coal and circulating fluidized bed oxyfuel boilers and balance of plant equipment have been conducted to identify the required specific features, which will maximize...

Carbon Dioxide Capture and Storage: A General Review on Adsorbents

CO2 is the primary anthropogenic greenhouse gas, accounting for 77% of the human contribution to the greenhouse effect in 2004. In the recent years, global concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere is increasing rapidly. CO2 emissions have an impact on global climate change. Anthropogenic CO2 is emitted primarily from fossil fuel combustion. Carbon capture and storage (CCS) is one option for reduc...

Flue gas treatment for CO2 capture

This report is in two sections: the first describes the flue gas and its treatment in post-combustion capture and the second covers the flue gas in oxyfuel combustion capture. The main components of the flue gas in pulverised coal combustion for postcombustion capture are CO2, N2, O2 and H2O, and air pollutants such as SOx, NOx, particulates, HCl, HF, mercury as well as other contaminants. The ...

3rd Oxyfuel Combustion Conference IMPACT OF CO2 ON BIOMASS DEVOLATILISATION, NITROGEN PARTITIONING AND CHAR COMBUSTION; A DROP TUBE FURNACE ANALYSIS

Biomass oxy-combustion is attracting considerable attention in recent times because it can achieve negative CO2 emission. While different fundamental issues of oxy-coal combustion are being tackled and pilot demonstrations have been conducted at various scales, little is known about the behaviour of biomass under oxy-fuel combustion. This paper investigates and presents the results of the devol...
