CAD Paradigm for Modeling, Analyses, Visualization and Rapid Manufacturing of Heterogeneous Objects

A number of representation schemas have been developed for material modeling to generate a 3D CAD model of heterogeneous objects. The downstream applications of analysis, fabrication and visualization require sharing the geometric and material information data among modules. Thus, the 3D CAD model should be able to be integrated with all these modules for successful realization of heterogeneous objects. To the best of knowledge, most of the available schemas offer geometric and material modeling modules and are incapable to provide a common platform for modeling, analysis, fabrication and visualization of heterogeneous objects. The present work presents a common computer aided design paradigm for design, analysis, visualization and manufacturing of heterogeneous objects. Paradigm integrates six modules for geometric modelling, material modelling, and integration of geometric and material modeling, slicing for rapid manufacturing, analysis and visualization. The paradigm assures efficient data transfer for modeling, visualization, analysis, and fabrication and material information retrieval of heterogeneous objects. Examples have been demonstrated in each module for the validity of the developed computer aided design paradigm.
