چکیده

Effects of medium polarization are studied for 1S0 pairing in neutron and nuclear matter. The screening potential is calculated in the RPA limit, suitably renormalized to cure the low density mechanical instability of nuclear matter. The selfenergy corrections are consistently included resulting in a strong depletion of the Fermi surface. All medium effects are calculated based on the Brueckner theory. The 1S0 gap is determined from the generalized gap equation. The selfenergy corrections always lead to a quenching of the gap, which is enhanced by the screening effect of the pairing potential in neutron matter, whereas it is almost completely compensated by the antiscreening effect in nuclear matter.

Nucleon effective masses within the Brueckner-Hartree-Fock theory: Impact on stellar neutrino emission

We calculate the effective masses of neutrons and protons in dense nuclear matter within the microscopic Brueckner-Hartree-Fock many-body theory and study the impact on the neutrino emissivity processes of neutron stars. We compare results based on different nucleon-nucleon potentials and nuclear three-body forces. Useful parametrizations of the numerical results are given. We find substantial ...

The properties of nuclear matter with lattice NN potential in relativistic Brueckner-Hartree-Fock theory

We study the properties of nuclear matter with lattice nucleon-nucleon (NN) potential in the relativistic Brueckner-Hartree-Fock (RBHF) theory. To use this potential in such a microscopic many-body theory, we firstly have to construct a one-boson-exchange potential (OBEP) based on the latest lattice NN potential. Three mesons, pion, σ meson, and ω meson, are considered. Their coupling constants...

Tensor force effects and high-momentum components in the nuclear symmetry energy

We analyze microscopic many-body calculations of the nuclear symmetry energy and its density dependence. The calculations are performed in the framework of the Brueckner–Hartree–Fock and the Self– Consistent Green’s Functions methods. Within Brueckner–Hartree–Fock, the Hellmann–Feynman theorem gives access to the kinetic energy contribution as well as the contributions of the different componen...
