Native T1 mapping correlates with severity of microvascular dysfunction measured by coronary flow reserve (CFR) in acute myocardial infarction

چکیده
Background Native T1 mapping cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging allows for quantitative assessment of myocardial oedema following acute myocardial infarction (MI). Coronary flow reserve (CFR) measures the maximum increase in intracoronary blood flow and it is a marker of microvascular dysfunction consequent to ischemic damage. The relation between increasingly higher native T1 values and the underlying severity of microvascular damage due to ischemic insult is not known. We hypothesise that T1 values measured in areas of injured myocardium, correlate to invasive measurements of CFR and microvascular dysfunction.

Doppler Versus Thermodilution-Derived Coronary Microvascular Resistance to Predict Coronary Microvascular Dysfunction in Patients With Acute Myocardial Infarction or Stable Angina Pectoris
Coronary microvascular resistance is increasingly measured as a predictor of clinical outcomes, but there is no accepted gold-standard measurement. We compared the diagnostic accuracy of 2 invasive indices of microvascular resistance, Doppler-derived hyperemic microvascular resistance (hMR) and thermodilution-derived index of microcirculatory resistance (IMR), at predicting microvascular dysfun...

BACKGROUND Microvascular damage immediately after reperfusion therapy is an independent predictor of left ventricular function in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI). However, its recovery may vary among individuals and the relationship between convalescent stage microvasculature and late myocardial morphologic change is unclear. METHODS AND RESULTS Patients treated with coronary ...
متن کاملPredicting Myocardial Functional Recovery After Acute Myocardial Infarction: Relationship Between Myocardial Strain and Coronary Flow Reserve
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES The purpose of this study was to evaluate the relationship between myocardial strain and coronary flow reserve (CFR) in the prediction of myocardial functional recovery after acute myocardial infarction (AMI). SUBJECTS AND METHODS Consecutive patients with anterior ST elevation AMI were analyzed. Left ventricular (LV) strain, determined by 2-dimensional speckle track...
متن کاملCoronary flow reserve during dobutamine stress in Takotsubo stress cardiomyopathy
OBJECTIVES Takotsubo stress cardiomyopathy (TSC) is an increasingly recognised and diagnosed disease, although the underlying pathophysiology is still unknown. Our aim was to investigate the effect of the catecholamine dobutamine on coronary flow reserve (CFR) measured non-invasively in patients with TSC and controls. Our hypothesis was that dobutamine stress can induce microvascular dysfunctio...

BACKGROUND Novel cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) stress T1 mapping can detect ischemia and myocardial blood volume changes without contrast agents and may be a more comprehensive ischemia biomarker than myocardial blood flow. OBJECTIVES This study describes the performance of the first prospective validation of stress T1 mapping against invasive coronary measurements for detecting obstructiv...
