Comparison of Receivers for SC-FDMA Transmission over Frequency-Selective MIMO Channels

In this work the performance of different receivers for single-carrier frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA) transmission over frequency-selective fading channels is investigated. The receiver design is done for a single-user multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system. Linear equalization in frequency domain according to the minimum mean-squared error (MMSE) criterion is compared to joint trellis-based equalization using reduced state sequence estimation (RSSE). Finally, successive interference cancelation in time domain is considered, where the signals of the transmit antennas are equalized in subsequent stages.
