چکیده
This paper describes the implementation of an integrated monitoring system for a CNC machine tool and its machining processes such as drilling, milling, turning and grinding. The monitoring system uses a variety of sensors such as force, torque, vibration, acoustic emission, and temperature to monitor the machining processes and the physical condition of the machine tool. The major aim is to improve the reliability of the machining operations and machine condition so as to ensure high part quality and reduce inspection costs. The paper describes the integrated monitoring systems developed and a case study to describe some of the obtained results. Copyright ©2002 IFAC

Applications of Data Fusion in Monitoring Inaccessible Ocean Machinery
Machine condition monitoring (MCM) enables real time health assessment, prognostics, and advisory generation by interpreting data from sensors installed on the machine being monitored. To effectively utilize measurements for determining the health of individual components, macro-components and the overall system, these measurements must somehow be combined or integrated to form a holistic pictu...
متن کاملApplication of Multivariate Control Charts for Condition Based Maintenance
Condition monitoring is the foundation of a condition based maintenance (CBM). To relate the information obtained from the condition monitoring to the actual state of the system, it is usually required a stochastic model. On the other hand, considering the interactions and similarities that exist between CBM and statistical process control (SPC), the integrated models for CBM and SPC have been ...
متن کاملIntegrated Inspection Planning and Preventive Maintenance for a Markov Deteriorating System Under Scenario-based Demand Uncertainty
In this paper, a single-product, single-machine system under Markovian deterioration of machine condition and demand uncertainty is studied. The objective is to find the optimal intervals for inspection and preventive maintenance activities in a condition-based maintenance planning with discrete monitoring framework. At first, a stochastic dynamic programming model whose state variable is the ...
متن کاملA Hierarchical SLAM/GPS/INS Sensor Fusion with WLFP for Flying Robo-SAR's Navigation
In this paper, we present the results of a hierarchical SLAM/GPS/INS/WLFP sensor fusion to be used in navigation system devices. Due to low quality of the inertial sensors, even a short-term GPS failure can lower the integrated navigation performance significantly. In addition, in GPS denied environments, most navigation systems need a separate assisting resource, in order to increase the avail...
