چکیده

This paper presents a comparative study of high resolution spectral estimation methods applied to Radar Altimeter. Spectral estimation methods such as Yule-Walker, Burg, Covariance, modified Covariance, MUSIC, minimum norm, ESPRIT methods are briefly reviewed. Computer simulations have been made using a test signal with six frequencies in order to evaluate the probability of detection of each frequency. High resolution spectral estimates showed much more spectral details than the Fourier spectrum and also it exhibits consistent peak position when compared to the lower resolution technique.

Application of Airborne Laser Scanner

This dissertation explores the use of an Airborne Laser Scanner (ALS) for various types of aircraft Terrain-Referenced Navigation (TRN) techniques. Using the methods explored, an ALS-based TERRain Aided Inertial Navigator (TERRAIN) was developed, flight tested, and shown capable of providing meter-level positioning accuracy in real-time. The ALS-based TRN techniques discussed are constrained to...

Statistical Analysis and Compensation of I/q Imbalances in Satellite Altimeter Demodulators

Satellite radar altimeter plays an important role in ocean remote sensing. In China an altimeter will be embarked on the forthcoming HY-2 satellite, which can bring significant benefits to international altimetry society. Modern altimeters adopt I/Q demodulators to detector sea echoes, so the imbalances between the in-phase (I) and quadrature (Q) channels introduce errors on altimeter parameter...

Sensitivity Analysis of Brown Model Waveform in Radar Altimetry

In satellite altimetry (radar altimetry), the altimeter emits a pulse, with known power, to the earth surface and receives it back continuously to determine of the sea surface height. The time series of the mean returned power is recorded individually at satellite as the so-called waveform. Analytical model for the waveform is first introduced by Brown, which consists of six parameters: signif...

Object Level Strategy for Spectral Quality Assessment of High Resolution Pan-sharpen Images

Panchromatic and multi-spectral images produced by the remote sensing satellites are fused together to provide a multi-spectral image with a high spatial resolution at the same time. The spectral quality of the fused images is very important because the quality of a large number of remote sensing products depends on it. Due to the importance of the spectral quality of the fused images, its eval...
