Lattice gauge theory (LGT) has been accepted as the most powerful tool for investigating nonperturbative strong interactions. Chinese physicists at Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP), Institute of Theoretical Physics (ITP) and Peking Univ. (PKU) in Beijing, Nankai Univ. in Tianjin, Chengdu Univ. of Science and Technology and Sichuan Univ. in Chengdu, Zhejiang Univ. (ZJU) in Hangzhou, and Zhongshan Univ. (ZSU) in Guangzhou have been involved in the study of LGT since early 80’s. However, earlier investigations were mainly analytical ones (for a review, see Refs.[1,2]), due to limited computational facilities. Thanks to the rapid development of high performance supercomputers in China in late 90’s, success of the Symanzik improvement program, and increasing support from NSF (National Science Foundation), more and more Chinese lattice physicists are doing numerical simulations.

The three dimensional U(1) Lattice Gauge, in the weak coupling limit, is dual to a Discrete Gaussian model. We investigate this dual model and use it to calculate properties of the U(1) theory. We find that, because of the nature of the dual model, its advantages are outweighed by large autocorrelation times generated when the dual system becomes disordered.

We numerically investigate the phase diagram of pure U (1) gauge theory with gauge fixing at strong gauge coupling. The FM-FMD phase transition, which proved useful in defining Abelian lattice chiral gauge theory, persists also at strong gauge coupling. However, there the transition seems no longer to be continuous. At large gauge couplings we find evidences for confinement.

We present a lattice computation of the first moment of the kaon's leading-twist distribution amplitude. We use ensembles with 2+1 dynamical flavours of domain wall fermions and the Iwasaki gauge action from the RBC and UKQCD joint dataset. We observe the expected chiral behaviour and obtain ξ (2 GeV) ≡ 3/5 a 1 K (2 GeV) = 0.032(3), which agrees very well with other results obtained using QCD s...

We present calculations of the decay constants and kaon B-parameter BK as the first stage of RBC Collabo-ration's quenched numerical simulations using DBW2 gauge action and domain-wall fermions. Some of potential systematic errors and consistency to previous works are discussed.
