suscitation and surgery and during the first days of convalescence. The one stage prothrombin time was employed as one index of hepat-ic function. It was observed that following wounding and resuscitation with stored blood, prothrombin activity fell to about 50 per cent of normal. This was followed, within four days, by a return toward normal which persisted one to three days. Following this rise, prothrombin activity again fell. In some of the most severely wounded the primary rise toward normal was small or absent, and the primary fall and secondary fall blended into one period of decreased prothrombin activity before the late rise to normal began on about the tenth day. It was the purpose of the present study to define these changes in prothrombin activity.

متن کاملReview on Effect of Hemorrhages in Rescuing Casualties from Fatalities
Introduction: High bleeding due to hypolemia may cause early death. If injured persons hospitalized due to trauma, they may more likely to die. Methods for bleeding control include mechanical, heat treatment, drug therapy, or topical hemostats. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of hemorrhage and their usages in all emergency bleeding cases (in the years of 2008-2019). In t...
متن کاملIn Vitro and in Vivo studies of the Effects of Cold Argon Plasma on Decreasing the Coagulation Time
Introduction Cold plasma is a self-sterilized, painless, and non-contact method in surgeries. These properties allow it to be applied to the living tissues and heat-sensitive parts. The aim of this study was to design a new cold plasma producer device and evaluate the effects of cold argon plasma on decreasing the coagulation time of blood drop in vitro and that of the injured liver blood in vi...

Objective(s): Echis carinatus is one of the venomous snakes in Iran. The venom of Iranian Echis carinatus is a rich source of protein with various factors affecting the plasma protein and blood coagulation factor. Some of these proteins exhibit types of enzymatic activities. However, other items are proteins with no enzymatic activity. Materials and Methods: In order to study the mechanism ...
متن کاملEffects of Methylglyoxal and Aspirin on In Vitro Coagulation and Clot Permeability
Backgrounds and Aims: Methylglyoxal (MGO) is an –α, β dicarbonyl aldehyde inevitably produced from triose-phosphate intermediates of glycolysis, and amino acid. Increased MGO in blood leads to alterations in coagulation, clot permeability and thus, atherosclerosis in children with diabetes; however, the precise mechanism is not clear. The present study aimed to compare differen...
