The eect of the high-speed stream following the corotating interaction region on the geomagnetic activities

چکیده
The high-speed stream following the corotating interaction regions (CIRs) was analyzed. As a result of the analysis, it is found that the geomagnetic ®eld is continuously disturbed in the high-speed stream in question. The geomagnetic disturbances with long duration recurred several rotations between December 1993 and June 1994. These disturbances were associated with a large recurrent coronal hole expanding from the south pole of the Sun. High-speed solar wind from this coronal hole was observed by the IMP-8 satellite during this period. However, the observed intensities of the geomagnetic disturbances were dierent for each recurrent period. This is explained by the seasonal eect. The disturbed geomagnetic condition continued in the highspeed stream after the passage of the CIRs. The long duration of these disturbances can be explained by the continuous energy input into the Earth's magnetosphere from the high-speed regions following the CIRs. This kind of long-duration geomagnetic disturbance in association with coronal holes has been observed in the declining phase of other solar cycles. The relation between the coronal-hole area and the maximum solar-wind velocity is not good for the well-developed large coronal hole analyzed here.

Role of high-speed solar wind streams on cosmic ray nucleonic intensity and solar/interplanetary/geomagnetic parameters during low amplitude days
There are two types of high-speed solar wind streams classified in two categories: coronal hole associated and flare generated streams. These two types of streams are classified in two categories based on magnetic field and solar wind plasma parameters. In the present work we have studied the characteristic of cosmic ray nucleonic intensity along with solar/geomagnetic parameters and their inte...
متن کاملGeomagnetic Field Eect over Azimuth Anisotropy of Cosmic Rays via Study of Primary Particles
Geomagnetic field is a one of the candidates for creation of anisotropy in azimuth distribution of extensive air showers over the entered cosmic rays to the atmosphere. Here we present the question: Is there any azimuth anisotropy flux in the upper level of the atmosphere due to the geomagnetic field over the entered cosmic-rays? The obtained answer is: yes. This investigation showed an agreeme...

Shock waves generated at different parts of vehicle interact with the boundary layer over the surface at high Mach flows. The adverse pressure gradient across strong shock wave causes the flow to separate and peak loads are generated at separation and reattachment points. The size of separation bubble in the shock boundary layer interaction flows depends on various parameters. Reynolds-averaged...

High speed wind tunnels are widely used in the study of fluid flow behavior around various objects. The air flow in the starting step of supersonic wind tunnels is transient including strong shock waves caused by the interaction of the tunnel main stream and the boundary layer at walls. To arrive in running step, the tunnel must be designed so as these waves leave immediately the test section. ...
