چکیده
Figure 1. Intraoperative photo showing the displaced fracture fragment. DESCRIPTION A 55-year-old white man presented with double vision 2 days after low-velocity blunt force–isolated facial trauma. He complained of persistent vertical and horizontal double vision, particularly with inferior and lateral gaze. He had minimal dentition, but he believed that his teeth aligned normally. A computed tomographic scan demonstrated a right orbital floor fracture.

Blow out fracture A Novel Management Modality
Blow out fracture of orbit involves fracture of orbital floor without fracture of infraorbital rim. This injury is common from frontal blow to orbit. Frontal blow to orbit causes increased intraorbital tension causing fracture of floor of the orbit (weak point) with prolapse of orbital content into the maxillary sinus cavity. This causes enophthalmos and diplopia. Infraorbital rim is not involv...
متن کاملOrbital roof blow-out fractures.
The term blow-out fracture was co ined by Smith and Regan [1] to describe an orbital floor fracture caused by a very sudden increase in intraorbital pressure without concomitant fracture of the orbital rim . Most blow-out fractures involve the orbital floor. Less often the medial orbital wall is fractured either solely or in conjunction with a fracture of the floor [2]. Upward displacement frac...

Purpose: To report the surgical outcome of traumatic blow out fractures of the floor of the orbit. Materials and methods: Five patients who sustained orbital floor blowout fracture following trauma underwent surgical repair via trans-conjunctival or subciliary approaches. One patient had sustained bilateral blowout fracture. Three patients presented with symptoms early following the fracture wi...

متن کاملThe white-eyed blowout fracture in the child: beware of distractions
Inferior 'trapdoor' orbital floor fractures with muscle and soft tissue incarceration are the most common type of orbital fracture in children. Delays to treatment can lead to a significant morbidity. It has been recommended that children who present with a 'white-eyed blowout' fracture should have surgery performed within 48h of diagnosis, otherwise prognosis is poor. A 14-year-old boy was ini...
