چکیده

Stress level detection is important for human error prevention and health care services. Speech based stress level detection is the most effective as speech data can be obtained in nonintrusive and inexpensive ways. In this paper, we explore the features that use Double-Layered Subband (DLS) filter for detecting stress level from speech. Spectral Centroid Frequency (SCF) and Spectral Centroid Amplitude (SCA) are acoustic features that complement each other if these two are fused together using appropriate weighting coefficient. We extract SCA using DLS filters. And, we present how DLS filter integrates SCF information to SCA feature without actually computing SCF feature parameters. We investigate the effectiveness of proposed approach over combining SCA and SCF using weighting coefficient. We build user independent stress level detection system. Stress is detected using the scale of 0 to 1 (’0’ being index for no stress and ’1’ being index the highest stress level). The experiments show that the proposed system is able to detect the level of stress from speech with reasonably high accuracy.

A Family of Variable Step-Size Normalized Subband Adaptive Filter Algorithms Using Statistics of System Impulse Response

This paper presents a new variable step-size normalized subband adaptive filter (VSS-NSAF) algorithm. The proposed algorithm uses the prior knowledge of the system impulse response statistics and the optimal step-size vector is obtained by minimizing the mean-square deviation(MSD). In comparison with NSAF, the VSS-NSAF algorithm has faster convergence speed and lower MSD. To reduce the computa...

Development of high quality acoustic subband echo canceller using dual-filter structure and fast recursive least squares algorithm

A high quality acoustic subband echo canceller is developed based on a dual-filter structure and the fast recursive least squares (FRLS) algorithm. Methods for overcoming the instability problem of the FRLS algorithm and implementing it using the 32-bit fixed-point arithmetic are presented. A new tap-weight transfer method, which assures double talk detection, is proposed. Computer simulations ...

Vibration Suppression of Fuel Sloshing using Subband Adaptive Filtering (RESEARCH NOTE)

One of the main vibration problems of aerospace vehicles with liquid fuel propulsion system is fuel sloshing. This phenomenon is a low frequency vibrational challenge which can affect the motion of the vehicle and degrade the stability of the main control system. In this regards, the motion of the liquid will be very critical when the frequency of the sloshing is very close to the frequencies o...

Vibration analysis of a double layer microshell utilizing a modified couple stress theory

In this paper, dynamic modeling of a double layer cylindrical functionally graded (FG) microshell is considered. Modeling is based on the first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT), and the equations of motion are derived using the Hamilton's principle. It assumes that functionally graded length scale parameter changes along the thickness. Generalized differential quadrature method (GDQM) is u...

The Effect of Modified Couple Stress Theory on Buckling and Vibration Analysis of Functionally Graded Double-Layer Boron Nitride Piezoelectric Plate Based on CPT

In this article, the effect of size-dependent on the buckling and vibration analysis of functionally graded (FG) double-layer boron nitride plate based on classical plate theory (CPT) under electro-thermo-mechanical loadings which is surrounded by elastic foundation is examined. This subject is developed using modified couple stress theory. Using Hamilton's principle, the governing equations of...
