چکیده
---------------------------------------------------------------------***--------------------------------------------------------------------Abstract The robust detection of red lesions in digital color fundus images is a critical step in the development of automated screening systems for diabetic retinopathy. Diabetic retinopathy is damage to the retina of human eye which is caused by the complication of increase in blood glucose level which can eventually leads to blindness. The longer the patient has diabetes the higher the chance of developing diabetic retinopathy. In this paper, we introduce a novel method for automatic detection of red lesion in retinal images using dynamic shape features. Dynamic shape features is defined as new set of shape features. These features represent the evolution of the shape during image flooding and allow discriminating between lesions and vessel segments using watershed segmentation.

متن کاملThe Scottish Diabetic Retinopathy Screening programme
Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is the leading cause of blindness and visual impairment in the working age population in high-income countries. Since DR is asymptomatic until it reaches an advanced stage, early detection by retinal examination is crucial. This is the goal of a Diabetic Retinopathy Screening (DRS) Programme. In keeping with guidelines for screening programmes, it must adhere to a stan...
