Granulocyte / Macrophage Progenitor Cells From Peripheral Blood and Bone Marrow
نویسنده
چکیده
Prostaglandins of the E series (PGE) inhibit proliferation of normal bone marrow granulocyte/macrophage progenitors (CFU-GM). Circulating CFU-GM are known to differ from marrow CFU-GM in many characteristics, and in the present study, we compared the effect of PGE1 on circulating and bone marrow progenitors in normals and in patients with chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML). PGE, caused a dose-dependent inhibition of normal marrow CFU-GM. Circulating CFU-GM were inhibited only at concentrations of iO5 mol/L or greater. and progenitor proliferation was. in fact. significantly stimulated at PGE, con-

Hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells (HSPCs) which give rise to different blood cell types are present within the bone marrow microenvironment, especially in flat bones such as skull, vertebrae, pelvis and chest. Interacting factors such as stromal derived factor-1/CXCR4, very late antigen-4/vascular cell adhesion molecule-1, Lymphocyte function-associated antigen-1/ intercellular adhesion molec...

متن کاملEffects of recombinant human granulocyte colony-stimulating factor on hematopoietic progenitor cells in cancer patients.
Hematopoietic progenitor cell levels were monitored in the peripheral blood and bone marrow of 30 cancer patients receiving recombinant human granulocyte-colony stimulating-factor (rG-CSF) in a phase I/II clinical trial. The absolute number of circulating progenitor cells of granulocyte-macrophage, erythroid, and megakaryocyte lineages showed a dose-related increase up to 100-fold after four da...
متن کاملPurification of hemopoietic progenitor cells from human marrow using a fucose-binding lectin and cell sorting.
Human peripheral blood granulocytes, but not lymphocytes, erythrocytes, or monocytes, bound the fucose-binding lectin from Lotus tetragonolobus (FBP), and this binding was competitively inhibited by the sugar alpha-L-fucose. The fluorescence-activated cell sorter was used to study the appearance of this receptor on human marrow cells during granulocyte differentiation and to prepare fractions e...
متن کاملSTUDIES ON THE TISSUE SPECIFICITY OF COLONY STIMULATING FACTOR
In this study granulocyte-macrophage colony stimulating factor (CSF) was prepared from rabbit and guinea pig lung tissues. The biological activity of these CSFs was measured on semisolid agar culture and compared with those of mouse and rat. Weight of animals, incubation time and cross-reactivity of CSFs with different bone marrow sources were also investigated. The results showed that both...
