چکیده

A general understanding of interactions between DNA and oppositely charged compounds forms the basis for developing novel DNA-based materials, including gel particles. The association strength, which is altered by varying the chemical structure of the cationic cosolute, determines the spatial homogeneity of the gelation process, creating DNA reservoir devices and DNA matrix devices that can be designed to release either single(ssDNA) or double-stranded (dsDNA) DNA. This paper reviews the preparation of DNA gel particles using surfactants, proteins and polysaccharides. Particle morphology, swelling/dissolution behaviour, degree of DNA entrapment and DNA release responses as a function of the nature of the cationic agent used are discussed. Current directions in the haemocompatible and cytotoxic characterization of these DNA gel particles have been also included.

Release of DNA and surfactant from gel particles: the receptor solution effect and the dehydration-hydration aspects.

DNA and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) have been used to prepare gel particles for controlled release studies. This article reports on the release of DNA and CTAB in four different solutions: in sodium bromide, in strong acid, pH 2 and pH 9 solutions for salmon testes DNA-CTAB gel particles. Also, compares results at extreme acid media and 10 mM NaBr solution with higher molecular weight...

Effect of Nano-TiO2 Particles on the Corrosion Behavior of Chromium-Based Coatings

Nanosized TiO2 particles were prepared by sol–gel method. The TiO2 particles were co-deposited with chromium using electrodeposition technique. In investigating of coating surfaces by scanning electron microscope (SEM), the results showed that the morphology of the coating surface was changed by adding TiO2 nanoparticles to the chromium coating. The corrosion behavior of the coatings was assess...

Estimation of ruminal bacteriophage numbers by pulsed-field gel electrophoresis and laser densitometry.

To investigate phage activity in the rumen, a method for quantifying phage has been developed. By differential centrifugation and ultrafiltration, phage particles were separated and concentrated from ruminal fluid. Linear double-stranded DNA from this fraction containing predominantly tailed phage was isolated and separated by size, using pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE). Laser densitome...

Production of Metalized UDMH Gel Fuel and Study the Effect of Surfactant on the Homogeneity and Stability of the Aluminium Nano Particles

Gelled propellants are improved propellants that can be considered as the final extension of liquid propellants. High specific impulse, good density and safety better than that of both solid and liquid propellants are advantages of the gel propellants. They are made by addition a suitable gellant to liquid propellants. In this research, nano Al particles have been used in UDMH gel fuel. The gel...
