Electroweak Radiative Corrections To Polarized Møller Scattering Asymmetries

چکیده
One loop electroweak radiative corrections to left-right parity violating Møller scattering (e−e− → e−e−) asymmetries are presented. They reduce the standard model (tree level) prediction by 40±3 % where the main shift and uncertainty stem from hadronic vacuum polarization loops. A similar reduction also occurs for the electron-electron atomic parity violating interaction. That effect can be attributed to an increase of sin θW (q 2) by 3% in running from q2 = mZ to 0. The sensitivity of the asymmetry to “new physics” is also discussed.

Electroweak Radiative Effects in Deep Inelastic Interaction of Polarized Leptons and Nucleons
The results for one-loop correction to deep inelastic scattering of longitudinal polarized leptons on longitudinal polarized hadrons are obtained withing the framework of the standard theory of electroweak interactions and ordinary quark-parton model. The on-shell renormalization scheme in t’Hooft-Feynman gauge is applied. The numerical analysis is carried out under conditions of modern particl...
متن کاملRadiative Corrections to Fixed Target Møller Scattering Including Hard Bremsstrahlung Effects
We present a calculation of the complete O (α) electroweak radiative corrections to the Møller scattering process e−e− → e−e−, including hard bremsstrahlung contributions. We study the effects of these corrections on both the total cross section and polarization asymmetry measured in low energy fixed target experiments. Numerical results are presented for the experimental cuts relevant for E-15...
متن کاملThe QED lowest-order radiative corrections to the two polarized identical fermion scattering
The explicit exact expressions of QED lowest-order radiative corrections to the two polarized identical fermion scattering are presented in covariant form. Polarization effects are treated in detail. The infrared divergence from the real photon emission is extracted by covariant approach. Some numerical results for Møller scattering are given. متن کاملRadiative Corrections to the Azimuthal Asymmetry in Transversely Polarized Møller Scattering∗
Experiment E158 at SLAC can measure an azimuthal asymmetry in single-spin, transversely polarized Møller scattering, e−↑e− → e−e−, which arises from a QED rescattering phase. We recompute the leading-order (one-loop) asymmetry, confirming previous results, and calculate the leading logarithmic QED corrections due to initial-state radiation from the beam and target electrons, and due to final-st...
متن کاملRadiative Corrections to Moller Scattering of Polarized Particles
Principal contributions to QED radiative effects for Moller scattering of polarized particles are investigated both on the Born level and taking into account radiative corrections (RC). Scattering on the case of longitudinal and transversal polarized targets is also considered. In a general way the expressions for differential cross section and polarization asymmetry (PA) have been defined, and...
