چکیده

Twelve leukocyte antigens have been determined by the method of cytotoxicity in v~tro on leukoblasts from 38 patients with acute leukemia, using two batteries of isoimmune human sera. None of these antigens was absent in this leukemic population. The presence of the leukocyte antigens 1, 3, 4, 6, and 7 of the Hu-1 system (5) was confirmed by absorption experiments. In 17 patients, the leukocyte group defined on leukoblasts during the acute phase of the disease was found to be identical to that determined on lymphocytes from the same patients during the remission period. No qualitative antigenic alterations of these alloantigens were found on the leukoblasts from patients with acute leukemia.

Can the Decreased Expression of Human Leukocyte Antigen Class Ⅰ and Ⅱ by Spermatozoa Lead to Recurrent Spontaneous Abortion?

Background & Objective: Unexplained recurrent spontaneous abortion (URSA) is defined as an unknown cause of occurrence of three or more clinically detectable pregnancy losses before 20 weeks of gestation, but it occurs presumably as a result of the immune system dysfunctions. We supposed that the disruption of semen or spermatozoa might be responsible for the dysfunction of the...

Association of Human Leukocyte Antigens Class I & II with Graves’ Disease in Iranian Population

Background: Graves’ disease (GD), a highly rampant autoimmune disorder of the thyroid gland, is responsible for 60-80% of the clinical cases of hyperthyroidism. Over the past decades, genetic association studies have identified several GD susceptibility loci in CTLA-4, TSHR and major histocompatibility complex regions. The information on the association between the human leukocyte antigens (HLA...

بررسی تعداد سلول‌های کشنده طبیعی و بیان HLA-G1 در خون محیطی خانم‌های باردار تهدید به سقط

Background: Pregnancy is a phenomenon that antigens of semi allogenic fetus are in direct contact with mother's immune system. Immune dysregulation can cause fetus rejection by mother's immune system responses. Human leukocyte antigen-G1, as an immunotolerant molecule has a major role to induce tolerance during pregnancy by suppression of natural killer cells through inhibitor receptors on thes...

Mixed leukocyte reactivity and leukemia: study of identical siblings.

This report describes a search for tumor-specific transplantation antigens in man by testing four sets of identical siblings using the mixed leukocyte transformation reaction. In each case, one member of the set had acute leukemia in relapse. In no instance did the leukemic cells of the patient stimulate the cells of the normal twin, nor did cells from the normal twin stimulate cells from the l...
