چکیده

In any communication system like MIMO OFDM system the transmitter and the receiver have to be synchronized to each other in order to make efficient transmission. Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is a special case of multicarrier transmission, which eliminates ISI and ICI, while MIMO (Multi-Input Multi-Output) system increases the bandwidth due to the propagation of signals using multiple transmit antennas. In case of multiple antenna systems, where different transmitters need to be synchronized to different receivers, the synchronization is bit more complicated because of the multiple streams transmitted at the same time in the same channel bandwidth. Thus timing synchronization in MIMO-OFDM system, is the main challenge in order to detect the header of each received frame. In this paper, orthogonal sequences based on the orthogonality are proposed for timing synchronization for Rayleigh channel. Simulation results, for the proposed method, show a good performance for timing synchronization for MIMO-OFDM system by using some LTE parameters.

Robust Signal Detection and Timing Synchronization Algorithms for OFDM Based Wireless Systems

In this paper, we propose robust and efficient signal detection and symbol timing synchronization schemes applicable to preamble based wireless systems such as WLAN and WMAN-OFDM. The signal detection algorithm is based on detecting the increase in energy at the beginning of the preamble. For symbol timing synchronization, instead of using conventional normalized timing metric, a new algorithm ...

Frequency Synchronization for MIMO OFDM Wireless LAN Systems

This paper proposes an accurate and time-efficient technique for frequency synchronization of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. The technique uses a preamble and is thus especially suitable for burst mode communication. The preamble consists of training sequences simultaneously transmitted from the various transmit antennas. From an...
