چکیده

Computer control systems are commonly designed in such way that observations are sampled equidistantly in time (time-triggered sampling). Networked control systems (NCS) are a special class of computer controlled systems, where sensors, controllers and actuators are spatially distributed and are only able to exchange information over a digital communication network. Due to the fact that these communicating devices are sharing a common medium, one of the major concerns of NCS is to minimize communication load, while preserving a certain level of control performance. It has been shown in [2] for multi-loop NCS that event-triggered sampling can be much more efficient than time-triggered sampling schemes in terms of resource usage of the communication system. While this approach presumes reliable communication systems, the focus of this work is to consider event-triggered scheduling schemes in unreliable communication networks. In [2], packet collisions in CSMA (carrier sense multiple access) protocols are resolved through arbitration mechanisms. If multiple senders access the shared medium at the same time, one sender will be elected to transmit information to its destination. In the absence of a global coordinator, arbitration mechanisms are hard to sustain in wireless communication networks [4]. We therefore consider in the following multi-loop NCS in CSMA communication networks without an arbitration mechanism, i.e. in case of multiple access to the medium at the same time collision occurs and all packets are lost. The NCS is given by N control loops which are closed over a common communication network. Each process i to be controlled is given by a stochastic linear discrete-time scalar system

On Event-Triggered Adaptive Architectures for Decentralized and Distributed Control of Large-Scale Modular Systems

The last decade has witnessed an increased interest in physical systems controlled over wireless networks (networked control systems). These systems allow the computation of control signals via processors that are not attached to the physical systems, and the feedback loops are closed over wireless networks. The contribution of this paper is to design and analyze event-triggered decentralized a...

Comparison of Event-Triggered and Time-Triggered Concepts with Regard to Distributed Control Systems

This paper compares event-triggered and time-triggered concepts from the control theory point of view. For that purpose, the requirements of distributed control systems are summarized and advantages and disadvantages of both concepts are elaborated by hand of different criteria. These are, for instance, the ability to react to asynchronous events, the system design and scheduling, the synchroni...

Distributed event-triggered tracking control of leader-follower multi-agent systems with communication delays

As embedded microprocessors are applied widerly to multi-agent systems, control scheduling and time-delay problems arose in the case of limited energy and computational ability. It has been shown that the event-triggered actuation strategy is an effective methodology for designing distributed control of multi-agent systems with limited computational resources. In this paper, a tracking control ...

Weakly coupled event triggered output feedback system in wireless networked control systems

This paper examines output feedback control of wireless networked control systems where there are separate links between the sensor-to-controller and controller-to-actuator. The proposed triggering events only rely on local information so that the transmissions from the sensor and controller subsystems are not necessarily synchronized. This represents an advance over recent work in event-trigge...

Scheduling of Event-Triggered Networked Control Systems using Timed Game Automata

We discuss the scheduling of a set of networked control systems implemented over a shared communication network. Each control loop is described by a linear-time-invariant (LTI) system with an event-triggered implementation. We assume the network can be used by at most one control loop at any time instant and after each controller update, a predefined channel occupancy time elapses before the ne...
