Brain Interface to Control a Tele-Operated Robot
نویسندگان
چکیده
An electroencephalography (EEG) based brain computer interface (BCI) system with the ability of choosing among 4 options reliably every 1 second has been developed. The system has been used to control a tele-operated robot or wheelchair. The commands from the BCI system have been used as high and low level commands to control the tele-operated robot/wheelchair. High level BCI commands take advantage of autonomous navigation implemented on the target device for indoor and outdoor environments. The BCI system has been running at Northeastern University while the robot/wheelchair were at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI).

Tele-Operated Anthropomorphic Arm and Hand Design
In this project, a tele-operated anthropomorphic robotic arm and hand is designed and built as a versatile robotic arm system. The robot has the ability to manipulate objects such as pick and place operations. It is also able to function by itself, in standalone mode. Firstly, the robotic arm is built in order to interface with a personal computer via a serial servo controller circuit board. Th...

This paper presents the technical description, mechanical design, electronic components, software implementation and possible applications of a tele-operated mobile robot designed as an assisted living tool. This robotic concept has been named Assistant Personal Robot (or APR for short) and has been designed as a remotely telecontrolled robotic platform built to provide social and assistive ser...
متن کاملRobot control system using SMR signals detection
One of the important issues in designing a brain-computer interface system is to select the type of mental activity to be imagined. In some of these systems, mental activity varies with user intent and action that must be controlled by the brain-computer system, and in a number of other signals, the received signals contain the same activity-related mental activity that should be performed by t...
متن کاملLaparoscopic Surgical Robot for Remote In Vivo Training
The Laparobot is a tele-operated robot designed specifically for training surgeons in advanced laparoscopic techniques. The Laparobot allows a student to practice surgery on a remotely located animal. The system uses standard laparoscopic tools for both the student’s control interface and for performing the in vivo surgery, thereby providing a realistic training platform for non-robotic laparos...
متن کاملDevelopment of Tele-robotic Interface System for the Hot-line Maintenance
This paper describes the development of the tele-robotic interface for a hot-line maintenance robot system. One of the main issues in designing humanrobot interface is to plan the control procedure for each part of the robotic system. Another issue is that the actual degree of freedom (DOF) in the hot-line maintenance robot system is much greater than that of available control devices such as j...
