چکیده

Abstract Proton emission from deformed nuclei is described within the non-adiabatic weak coupling model which takes into account the coupling to γ-vibrations around the axially-symmetric shape. The coupled equations are derived within the Gamow state formalism. A new method, based on the combination of the R-matrix theory and the oscillator expansion technique, is introduced that allows for a substantial increase of the number of coupled channels. As an example, we study the deformed proton emitter 141Ho.

Gamow-Teller beta-decay rates for A <= 18 nuclei.

A comprehensive analysis is made of the experimental information on Gamow-Teller beta decay for the light (A & 18) nuclei. Experimental data on half-lives, Q values, and branching ratios are tabulated. Experimental log ft values and beta-decay matrix elements are deduced from these data. The one-body-transition densities necessary to predict the beta-decay matrix elements are then calculated us...

Gamow shell model and realistic nucleon-nucleon interactions

We present a new and efficient method to obtain a Gamow shell-model basis and matrix elements generated by realistic nucleon-nucleon interactions. We derive a self-consistent Hartree-Fock potential from the renormalized NLO interaction model. The corresponding Gamow one-body eigenstates are generated in a plane wave basis in order to build a Gamow shell-model set of basis states for the closed ...

Stellar weak decay rates in neutron-deficient medium-mass nuclei

Weak decay rates under stellar density and temperature conditions holding at the rapid proton-capture process are studied in neutron-deficient medium-mass waiting-point nuclei extending from Ni up to Sn. Neighboring isotopes to these waiting-point nuclei are also included in the analysis. The nuclear structure part of the problem is described within a deformed Skyrme Hartree-Fock + BCS + quasip...

Very Narrow Resonances in Spherical Proton Emitting Nuclei

The separation energy and half-life of some heavy proton emitting nuclei, and the single-particle structure of the unbound 11N , have been evaluated by implementing a careful numerical treatment to solve Schrödinger equation in a continuum discretization context. The basic scheme behind the method consists in using the ground-state proton emitter in connection with an isolated single-particle r...

Temperature Dependence of Pair Correlations in Nuclei in the Iron-Region

We use the shell model Monte Carlo approach to study thermal properties and pair correlations in 54,56,58Fe and in 56Cr. The calculations are performed with the modified Kuo-Brown interaction in the complete 1p0f model space. We find generally that the proton-proton and neutron-neutron J = 0 pairing correlations, which dominate the ground state properties of even-even nuclei, vanish at temperat...
