There is partial response and very good tolerance with no grade 3–4 toxicities. After six cycles of doublet therapy, the patient follows on pemetrexed maintenance. Six months later, he develops a hot and itchy rash with poor response to corticoids and topical antibiotics. Quiz option A: Skin toxicity to cisplatin Quiz option B: Skin toxicity to pemetrexed Quiz option C: Erysipelas Quiz option D: Carcinoma erysipeloides Quiz option E: Inflammatory breast cancer Quiz option F: Cellulitis

Skin rash by gefitinib is a sign of favorable outcomes for patients of advanced lung adenocarcinoma in Japanese patients
Skin rash is one of the notorious adverse events of gefitinib as well as other epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitors. The differences of response rate and frequency of adverse events between ethnic groups are well known. Some reports demonstrated the correlation between development of rash and efficacy in Caucasian patients treated with erlotinib, gefitinib or cetuximab. W...
متن کاملA spectrum of cutaneous toxicities from erlotinib may be a robust clinical marker for non-small-cell lung therapy: a case report and literature review
Some literature suggests that an EGFR inhibition-induced rash can be used as a clinical marker, but few studies report the correlation between a spectrum of cutaneous toxicities from EGFR inhibition and drug efficacy. We report about a woman with a stage IV lung adenocarcinoma using erlotinib monotherapy, who experienced a spectrum of cutaneous toxicities, including papulopustular rash, mucosit...
متن کاملGene Regulation Network Based Analysis Associated with TGF-beta Stimulation in Lung Adenocarcinoma Cells
Background: Transforming growth factor (TGF)-β is over-expressed in a wide variety of cancers such as lung adenocarcinoma. TGF-β plays a major role in cancer progression through regulating cancer cell proliferation and remodeling of the tumor micro-environment. However, it is still a great challenge to explain the phenotypic effects caused by TGF-β stimulation and the effect of TGF-β stimulatio...
متن کاملAdult Still's disease associated with ovarian cancer: case report.
We report a case of adult-onset Still's disease in a female patient with fever, myalgia, vanishing rash and bilateral inguinal lymphadenopathy, diagnosed after extensive workup to exclude other rheumatic, infectious and neoplastic diseases. The patient initially responded to corticosteroid therapy, but progressed to increased lymph nodes size that when biopsied, revealed serous ovarian adenocar...
متن کاملThe Role of Immunohistochemistry Studies in Distinguishing Malignant Mesothelioma from Metastatic Lung Carcinoma in Malignant Pleural Effusion
Background and Objective: Early diagnosis of malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM) is the key point of its treatment. The main problem is the precise diagnosis of mesothelioma and its differentiation from metastatic lung adenocarcinoma. Mesothelioma exhibits complex immunohistochemical characteristics. The aim of this study was to study hybrid immunohistochemistry in the differe...
