چکیده

The aim of the paper is to present tuning equations for one-degree-of-freedom (1DoF) proportional integral (PI) and proportional integral derivative (PID) controllers. These are based on a performance/robustness trade-off analysis with firstand second-order plus deadtime models. On the basis of this analysis a tuning method is developed for 1DoF PI and PID controllers for servo and regulatory control that allows designing closed-loop control systems with a specified MS robustness that at the same time have the best possible IAE performance. The control system robustness is adjusted varying only the controller proportional gain.

Analytical Robust Tuning Approach for Two-Degree-of-Freedom PI/PID Controllers

This paper’s aim is to present a tuning approach for full Two-Degree-of-Freedom (2-DoF) PI and PID controllers for First-Order-Plus-Dead-Time (FOPDT) and Second-OrderPlus-Dead-Time (SOPDT) controlled processes. The tuning relations provide the value of the typical parameters for a PID controller plus the set-point weighting factor, being these relations driven by just one single design paramete...

Model-based Autotuning System Using Ann and Relay Feedback Test

A model-based autotuning system is presented for PI/PID controllers. A conventional relay feedback test is used to generate the response for estimations of parameters such as: process gain, ultimate gain, ultimate frequency, and apparent deadtime. Two ANNs are built based on the data generated from standard SOPDT processes to enhance the estimation of apparent deadtime. Upon having the estimate...

PID controller tuning for desired closed-loop responses for SISO systems using impulse response

Most of the proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller tuning methods reported in literature are based on the approximate plant models (FOPDT or SOPDT models) derived from the step response of the plant. In this paper, a new method of designing PID controllers using ‘impulse response’ instead of ‘step response’ of the plant is presented. Treating the impulse response of the plant as a st...

An ANOVA Based Analytical Dynamic Matrix Controller Tuning Procedure for FOPDT Models

Dynamic Matrix Control (DMC) is a widely used model predictive controller (MPC) in industrial plants. The successful implementation of DMC in practical applications requires a proper tuning of the controller. The available tuning procedures are mainly based on experience and empirical results. This paper develops an analytical tool for DMC tuning. It is based on the application of Analysis of V...

Simple PI/PID Controller Tuning Rules for FOPDT Plants with Guaranteed Closed-Loop Stability Margin

In the paper we present tuning rules for PI and PID controllers and the first order plus dead time (FOPDT) process model. The settings respect both performance and stability indices and provide a high degree of robustness for any value of the dead time parameter. As the performance index we are using the well known modulus optimum criterion, which requires that the amplitude of the closed-loop ...
